I was always singing to myself, but I never ever performed, and I never told anyone I liked to sing. So it was a definitely a new adventure going in to audition for ‘Glee.’
I can’t believe it’s been four years now, and from watching that pilot, we really all looked like babies. It’s unbelievable just how far everything has come. I’m happier now than I’ve ever been on the show and in my life. I really owe so much of my happiness to ‘Glee.’
I’ve been a performer for a long time, but I really don’t have any dancing experience. I did some of the musicals in high school, and I was in the glee club for a little while just to try and gain some skills… I was not good at it.
I still sing. I don’t know if I’m going to sing on ‘Glee’ or ‘New Normal.’

Recently I was directing an episode of ‘Glee’ and I lost my cell phone – and I didn’t have time to buy a new one for three weeks. Well, the first few days I was anxious as hell, suffered the delirium tremens, didn’t think I could make it through, etc. Then something kind of curious happened – I began to feel great.
Israel being condemned by the EU, which 66 years ago watched with glee as its Jews were being mass murdered. That is pretty rich.
Being a big fan of ‘Glee,’ I want to do the show justice.
I think ‘Glee’ was a freshman comedy, and I think whenever it’s your debut season, you get compared a lot to the other shows, regardless if there’s any sort of overlap in content or tone or anything, just because you came out in the same year.

To me, ‘Glee’ is totally fantastic.

People aren’t paying to see the Kevin McHale show, they’re paying to see the cast of ‘Glee.’
I know some of my parents’ friends think ‘Little Britain’ is in incredibly poor taste. But swimming the Channel? You can’t really say anything negative about that, can you? There’s nothing better than making your parents happy. The glee on my father’s face that day was amazing.
I spend a lot of time on the ‘Glee’ set. A lot of time. Luckily we have to dance and rehearse, so we’re always moving, but having such a tight schedule can make it hard to find the time to exercise. It’s definitely a struggle!
