Governor Romney has paid 100 percent of his taxes that are owed. He has complied 100 percent with what the law requires.
I think President Obama could have handled politics and policies differently. But he has been decisive, strong, and consistent – important qualities in a president. Mitt Romney is indeed an Etch A Sketch, the antithesis of leadership.
Mitt Romney had it right in 2012 when he told President Barack Obama that Russia was ‘without question our No. 1 geopolitical foe.’
I was a Mitt Romney Republican because he was pro-business.
While Romney has an overall deficit with women voters, his biggest disadvantage is with college educated women – wherever they work, at home, in an office, a store or a factory.
After four years of getting the run-around, America needs a turnaround, and the man for the job is Governor Mitt Romney.
Mitt Romney is a Mormon, and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. Even though he talks about Jesus as his Lord and savior, he is not a Christian. Mormonism is not Christianity. Mormonism is a cult.
Romney and CPAC were never a particularly good match.
I wasn’t supposed to be walking with Mark Zuckerberg. I wasn’t supposed to be interviewing Romney’s sons. Why was I doing it? Because I wanted to survive. I wanted to live. I wanted to earn what it means to be an American.
The Obama camp, the White House, and the media all condemned Romney before they condemned the attacks. Obama thought it more worthwhile to hit Romney for what he was doing than the terrorists for what they did. Romney got hit first.
As the Republican nominee, it was Romney’s job to find a way to speak to some of those groups of voters and offer practical solutions to their difficulties that both resonated with them and sounded plausible to them.
It’s not just a matter of whether you support Obama or Romney. It’s who they have coming with them. I always keep my powder dry, as they say in the military.
Either Mitt Romney through his own words and his own signature was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the SEC, which is a felony, or he was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the American people.
Again, if I was going to call Romney and the Republicans stupid, I’m certainly not going to call the Democrats and President Obama stupid.
My favorite moment of the 2012 election was the debate question where they asked Romney and Obama what they would do to stem gun violence, and Romney’s answer was you should marry someone.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Mitt Romney for several years now. There’s so much to appreciate about him. He fixes things. He’s results-driven. He’s taken broken companies and made them successful.
As president, Governor Romney would handle the Syrian conflict much differently. A President Romney would not ignore a growing conflict in a dangerous region involving allies the way Obama has, especially when chemical weapons could possibly be used.
Mitt Romney has won the 2012 presidential nomination by promising Republicans that he would end a so-called ‘culture of dependency’ on welfare – welfare defined as ‘free stuff’ and food stamps for poor folks, not tax breaks for Big Oil or tax shelters for Bain executives.
The question is what will Mitt Romney do as president if his policy is simply to be hands off and let the government be made so small it can be drowned in a bathtub. In the 21st century global economy, no state alone has the ability to compete against China.
We should do what Obama and Romney won’t do: Concentrate on Americans.
Team Obama continues to dominate new media, spending far more effort and money than Team Romney in targeted online youth outreach.
The average GOP presidential vote in these last five elections was 44.5 percent. In the last three, it was 48.1 percent. Give Romney an extra point for voter disillusionment with Obama, and a half-point for being better financed than his predecessors. It still strikes me as a path to narrow defeat.
Romney is right that the Obama vision is too centered on government. But his is too centered on the promotion of business and wealth creation at the expense of everything else.
In his tub-thumping speech at the 2008 Republican National Convention, Romney sounded like the hedge-fund tycoon he is.
And frankly, I don’t understand – I mean, I’m obviously a card-carrying Democrat – but I can’t understand why any woman would want to vote for Mitt Romney, except maybe Mrs. Romney.
During his runs for the GOP presidential nomination, Mitt Romney has done a good job of mimicking Reagan’s anti-government diatribes and ‘better days ahead’ rhetoric.
Rather than support workers at home or investments in public schools, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan support the Bush-era tax cuts for the very wealthy. They want to hand over our schools to private corporations.
I don’t like Mitt Romney. I wouldn’t vote for Mitt Romney in a million years. Mitt Romney is no ally of the gay community.
There’s no love lost between me and Mitt Romney.
Facts matter. Science matters. Reason matters. Mitt Romney has shown an inability to respect any of the three. President Barack Obama not only respects them, he relies on them. He is an overwhelming and unquestioned choice to continue as president.
There are many reasons why Mitt Romney should not become president, but perhaps the most important of all is the narrowness of his experience, perspective and vision.
In my lifetime, Mitt Romney is the most qualified leader I’ve ever seen run for the presidency of the United States.
Hillary is the Mitt Romney of 2016, where she has very little in common with the average person. She doesn’t drive herself anywhere, she doesn’t put on her own makeup, she doesn’t cook her own meals, and she doesn’t research her own materials. She has very little in common with the average woman.
The path from Hythe leads, for a little while, along the line of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway, whose 15in-gauge steam trains run throughout the year from Hythe to Dungeness.
Mitt Romney talks a lot about all the things he’s fixed. I can tell you that Massachusetts wasn’t one of them. He’s a fine fellow and a great salesman, but as governor he was more interested in having the job than doing it.
Mitt Romney not only believes in the values of economic freedom. His entire life has been committed to advancing it.
At the end of the day, Mitt Romney and Ann Romney are two fine people.
I’ve talked to Mitt Romney. He’s not going to run for this seat. I would be glad for him if he would.
According to Gallup, Obama has already lost support among Jewish voters, down from 78 percent to 68 percent. If Romney shows that he is genuinely committed to Israel and that Obama is not, he’ll make further inroads.
Wealth plays out in the political sphere in all kinds of ways, often personally. Can Hillary Clinton represent the interests of working people when she and her husband have taken so much money from Wall Street? Was Mitt Romney’s private-equity business too ruthless with workers?
Mitt – what I speak to Mitt Romney about is jobs. What I speak to Mitt Romney about is China, because he’s got a great view on China and how they’re trying to destroy our country by taking our jobs and making our product and manipulating their currency, so that it makes it almost impossible for our companies to compete.
Mitt Romney understands the importance of Alaska as a leader in our country’s energy production and I look forward to working with him on such an important economic and national security matter.
And I think it’s that time. And I think if you just step aside and Mr. Romney can kind of take over. You can maybe still use a plane. Though maybe a smaller one. Not that big gas guzzler you are going around to colleges and talking about student loans and stuff like that.
But Mitt Romney understands, like I understand, that people – not governments – create jobs.
Frankly that’s what makes such a big difference between President Obama on one hand and Mitt Romney on the other. Gov. Romney has not walked in those shoes of the ordinary Americans and frankly I don’t think he has the capacity to quite understand the struggle that the 98 percent of Americans go through every single day.
When Governor Romney was out here, I told him, I said, ‘we are following the formula of streamlining regulations, being job creating friendly, balancing budgets, cutting taxes, and, you know, using common sense. And if you get to be president, we are going to do more of that.’
Mitt Romney has a proven job creation record as governor and in the private sector.
What Governor Romney is proposing is an across-the-board cut in marginal tax rates for households, every household in America by 20 percent. And we’ll have to broaden the base to pay for that. Also, a very deep cut in the corporate rate.
The principles that made this nation a great and powerful leader of the world, have not lost their meaning. They never will. We know we can bring this country back. I’m Mitt Romney. I believe in America. And I’m running for president of the United States.
Aside from being bad sportsmanship – Romney basically said Obama won by cheating – he was displaying the same obtuseness about the wants and needs of ordinary people that did more to torpedo his campaign than any goodies Obama might have had to dole out.
