I think the culture of the red carpet is too much like a modern-day coliseum. If you’re being photographed all the time, and you don’t like having a bad photograph taken, and if you’re super, super thin, chances are you’re never going to look fat in a picture.
I like the quiet life sometimes. I also love a bustling press conference sometimes as well. I love a 600 metre red carpet.
I used to look like a deer in headlights on the red carpet. You step out of the car and it’s bedlam. Everyone’s got crazy eyes.
My view is quite simple. When your dog pees on the carpet, you do not give away your dog. You say, This dog is special. I have to teach him not to pee on the carpet. I feel exactly the same way about men. They need to be taught things.
I hate all the red carpet stuff. It’s weird, because it’s part of what’s expected of you now.
I don’t mind doing the whole red carpet thing when I have to when it comes to publicizing a movie. But besides that, I don’t like those kinds of things at all. Celebrity status is not really something that appeals to me.
As an actress, one of the perks is having access to ridiculously expensive clothing and prancing around on the red carpet. Who wouldn’t want to have fun with that?
I believe that sometimes, when you start out at 18 years of age on the red carpet, it can make you think, ‘This is normal, this is easy.’
I can’t promise to love someone for ever. I can’t imagine anyone could promise to love me for ever. I mean, it sounds like a lovely day, but I go to red carpet events all the time and I’m the centre of attention so it’s not like I’m looking for that!
When I was 12, I read about Iqbal Masih, a child slave who escaped the carpet factory where he’d been chained to a loom since the age of four. Iqbal led an anti-child labor crusade that made global headlines, including the one that first caught my attention.
People think fashion shows take hours – it’s 15 minutes. You walk in, do red carpet, take the pictures, you sit down… and then it’s over.
The red carpet is a beautiful situation for people. I think everybody appreciates it and loves it and honors it. Nobody really acts a fool because they know this is a one-time thing.
Art should never be limited – the beauty of art is that it gives us the freedom to go places where we wouldn’t go to in our normal lives. Inside, I’m just so many different people. I go from the pretty girl on the red carpet to the singer at Ozzfest, spitting in the crowd. That’s Jada.
I was on this bridge overlooking the carpet… I think it went all the way back to Oregon.
Jews have had to carry around their own sense of self in a carpet bag and I think perhaps too much emphasis might be being put on nationality and on the other hand patriotism, that sort of thing.
I’m trying to build a brand, so I can sell Keyshawn Johnson products in stores. You know, paint, rugs, carpet, drapery, fabrics, blankets, towels, hardware, plates.
What if everything is an illusion and nothing exists? In that case, I definitely overpaid for my carpet.
Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, and Will Smith are hall-of-famers. When they hit the red carpet, they know exactly what they’re going to do, how they’re going to do it. Damn, they’re good.
The days of red carpet disasters are kind of over.
Sometimes, when I’m on the red carpet or something, and there was a lot of flashes, my eyes, like, start watering. I’m like, ‘Oh.’ You have to hide it, so I just keep going, and then I’m like, ‘Oh gosh, it hurts so bad.’
Celebrities might be experts when it comes to working the red carpet, but relying on them to guide your health and wellness can be a slippery slope.
