When I think of a video game, I think about how I’d love to have Buddy Rogers vs. Ric Flair, something like that, where you can wrestle these Legends against each other from different periods and stuff.
Anything that encourages a boy to open a book, in a world of more violent and therefore more compelling video games, is something I’m going to pay for.
I figure if it’s turns out well the film will have its own momentum and will carry into the video release. So it’s hard to really picture the DVD version when I’m in production.
All I wanted to do was to perform my music, so I never really thought about photo shoots or music video shoots or interviews. You can’t anticipate those things – you just can’t plan this as a job.
The heyday of video music was the mid 80’s.
I’m such a huge sports video game fan. These games are getting so realistic, it’s amazing.
Listen, I am such a nerd. I’m not one of those girls that goes, ‘Ha, ha, hee, hee. I’m a nerd.’ No, no, no – my brain mentality is the same as a 12-year-old little boy. The video games that I play, the things that I like to watch – I’m a Trekkie.
‘Avatar’ was gorgeous. There are good stories in there, but when used in other movies they’re similar to those violent video games. Characters using deadly weapons. The children follow these movies.
There was a time Michael Jackson couldn’t get his video on MTV because he was considered to be ‘urban.’ The Michael Jackson. So I literally have to be the Michael Jackson of apparel in order to break down the doors for everyone who will come after I’m gone, after I’m dead.
I cannot get myself interested in video games. I’ve been given video game players and they just sit there connected to my TVs gathering dust until eventually I unplug them so I can put in another special-region DVD player.
I’m a big video game fan.
Sometimes we need to step back and understand the power of video games. ‘Dear Esther’ does just that. Through visuals, audio, and narration, this title weaves a story around the player as they explore different areas in the game.
When Jack White called and wanted me to do a video and play mandolin with The Raconteurs, I didn’t know anything about The Raconteurs at that time.
It’s a crazy experience for me to be in a Foo Fighters video.
My first-ever social medium was actually MySpace. But my first video ever was on YouTube – that’s when I thought I was a fashion guru – posting fashion stuff. I deleted all of those videos. And I regret doing that today, because I want to look back and see how baduy I was in seventh grade!
I love video games.
I think ‘Disney Infinity’ is exciting. It’s hard to even call it a video game, because it’s so different. What excites me about this is how it’s going to put more and more of what happens in the game into the hands of the user; it’s up to them. You can play it to where everything’s laid out for you.
I think that audio and video over the internet in the sense of teleconferencing and telephone calls. Maybe we’ll actually have picture phone through your work station.
I really like baking, and I really like playing video games. I saw a few geeky baking blogs but I never saw a show on television or on the Internet like that. So I thought, ‘Why not be the first to try it out?’ And it went really well.
I love video games. I love, love, love them! I also love ‘Star Wars.’ I wish Jedi was a true religion.
As for the claim that drone ‘pilots’ are not engaged in the extinguishing of human life via video games, the military’s own term for its drone kills – ‘bug splat,’ which happens to be the name of a children’s video game – and other evidence negates that.
I have a very low tolerance for boredom and often think I would have missed out on books entirely if I’d grown up in the Internet and video game age. Now I enjoy books for people of all ages, including children.
The little boy inside of all us men always loves something video game related.
When I did the video for ‘Holding Out For A Hero,’ we filmed that on top of the Grand Canyon, and that was quite frightening. I was close to the edge, and there was a helicopter hovering about, creating a lot of wind, and I was nervous I was going to fall off.
When you make a movie, you know you’re making a long-form thing, so the visuals are different than for a video where it has to be more obvious or in your face, I think, a little bit.
I’ve had a job since I was 11. I had a paper route, I worked at a video store, I was a toy doll at FAO Schwartz when I was in high school. And I think that it’s made me really disciplined when it came to pursuing acting, because I had no clue how to go about it.
The video game culture was an important thing to keep alive in the film because we’re in a new era right now. The idea that kids can play video games like Grand Theft Auto or any video game is amazing. The video games are one step before a whole other virtual universe.
YouTube is so quick and so instant, and you make a video, and you can upload it the same day, whereas with a book, you have to go through a lot of time and a lot of people and a lot of processes. So it was weird to sit down and work with other people on projects, because I’m so independent with YouTube.
While films are a very visual and emotional artistic medium, video games take it one step further into the realm of a unique personal experience.
I like ‘Glee’ because I love all the singing. It’s like an hour-long music video. Those kids are so talented, and I love ‘The Glee Project’.
I like to play video games and read.
That’s really one of the things I love about video games. It’s a whole new world every time you start.
Computer monitors can operate in many different video modes. In most cases, the decision about how many pixels and colors to display is yours – but not always.
My mom didn’t let me play video games growing up, so now I do. Gaming gives me a chance to just let go, blow somebody up and fight somebody from another dimension. It’s all escapism.
Because I was the blonde, I was promoted as the video vixen.
Working with Yahoo! allows us to give our fans a chance to listen to our songs, check out the video, purchase our new album, win tickets to our show, and chat with us all in one place.
Looking back, video game design seems a natural fit, although there was no such thing when I was growing up. I built a Tic-Tac-Toe playing machine in my teens which went up in smoke on the night it was scheduled to go to a science fair.
It’s no good being great in something that goes straight to video.
I respect people that are die-hard film people, but I started on video. I started on Hi8 video and mini-DV, and I made skate videos. So, I love film, and I love the way it looks, but I also love the way crappy video looks, or VHS. I’ve always been a fan of whatever the look is that’s appropriate for what the feeling is.
I photographed all kinds of sports – Formula 1, Formula Atlantic. And anybody who knows me knows that, from the day they invented video cameras, I used to lug them around when you had to carry the pack here and the big camera here, plus the diaper bag and a baby and the purse or whatever.
If I play a video game, I have to get through the whole thing. Like, when the new ‘Resident Evil’ comes out, I have to sit and do the whole thing. It will consume my life. I’m at a point where I don’t have much time to play around anymore, so I don’t really get started on the games if I won’t be able to finish them.
It’s cool that I’m 20 and am on the cover of the video game. A lot of kids play hockey, and a few get drafted, and only a few get to be on the cover. It’s a great feeling.
My site has the whole thing – blogs, information, video interviews.
I’m the queen of the independent video!
I remember on the ‘Midnight Special’ seeing a video with Meat Loaf. I think it was the ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ video. It was like this raging huge fat guy, and he’s really sexual, and he’s really sweaty, and it’s really kind of sexy. Like, a fat guy can get the chick. I still am a big fan of ‘Bat Out Of Hell.’
I came of age at the end of the 1960s, just when video was also coming into the world. Companies such as Sony and Panasonic were starting to market it and we artists immediately knew how it could be used.
I’m a total nerd. I love comic books and video games and most of all zombies!
I could do a video doing my makeup or vlogging my day with friends, and I know half of my comments section will be about my weight.
It’s typical for video customers to often use licensed music – whether a soundtrack, background music, or sound effects – to complement their video projects.
I wouldn’t claim to be a gamer. I have played video games in the past.
I like making little videos and little records. I’ve always loved video cameras and four-track cassette recorders, still cameras, anything.
If I have one technology tip of the day, it’s this: No matter how good the video on YouTube is, don’t read the comments, just don’t, because it will make you hate all humans.
Most of the time with video games, you’re recording by yourself.
Video games lend themselves completely to 3-D.
I think the more web video there is, the more press you’ll get, as well as all the people who want to tell stories that haven’t been told before but can’t do that on TV because different stories are a risk.
