My mum wants me to get married – and have children, of course. She’s met Gaga; we’ve been dating a while. We’re in a committed relationship, and I’m really happy in my relationship. If you have pendulum clocks on the wall and start them all at different times, after a while the pendulums will all swing in synchronicity. The same thing happens with heart cells in a Petri dish: They start beating in rhythm even when they’re not touching one another.

I see what happens when one gets very attached to material things. That’s just not what my life is.
Safety is something that happens between your ears, not something you hold in your hands.
Too often in life, something happens and we blame other people for us not being happy or satisfied or fulfilled. So the point is, we all have choices, and we make the choice to accept people or situations or to not accept situations.
Nothing happens in a vacuum in life: every action has a series of consequences, and sometimes it takes a long time to fully understand the consequences of our actions.
Most people think when the world gets itself together, we’ll all be okay. I don’t see that situation arriving. I think one by one, we all free ourselves from the chains we have chained ourselves to. But I don’t think that suddenly some magic happens and the whole lot of us will all be liberated in one throw.
Why is it that our memory is good enough to retain the least triviality that happens to us, and yet not good enough to recollect how often we have told it to the same person?

When I write a goal down – and I truly write them down – it becomes a part of me. That’s a contract that I sign with myself to say, ‘I don’t care what happens – I’m going to stay on this path. I’m going to try and see this through; I’m going to give it my best shot, my best effort.’
