For years, I’ve been mistaken for Rhys Ifans. All the time. People come up and say, ‘Notting Hill?’ I nearly got beaten up once for not being Rhys.
I’m amazed at the amount of time people spend on the Internet.
Acting in film, you know, I hear all the time, people say ‘You did so much better than I thought you would.’ So there’s an added element of surprise in film, different than in music.
Every time people ask me, ‘Did you know that you would be Miss Universe?’, my answer is, ‘I didn’t know that I would be Miss Universe because I didn’t know it was possible for someone like me.’

Success comes but with time. People want to achieve things very quickly; they are not patient.
‘Marnie’ was ahead of its time. People didn’t talk about childhood and its effects on adult life. It was taboo to discuss sexuality and psychology and to put all that into a film was shocking.
Capturing any member of any terrorist cell or any insurgent cell that we may happen to come across is always very, very valuable, and the thing that interests me is that in most instances after a time, people talk and they tell us what they know.

I was anti social, but at the same time, people gravitated to that because they wanted to figure out who I was and why I was how I was.
The most dangerous thing, when you have a serious mental illness, is convincing yourself that you don’t have it. And you see it all the time. People get on medication, and they feel better, and they stop taking it. And some flirt with unreality on some levels. But it feels so convincing to them that it feels real.
