No matter what you go through, if it’s the truth, 9 times out of 10, somebody else has been through the same thing or is currently going through the same thing.
I’ve always been sort of addicted to genre-jumping. I’ve never been in the mood to do the same thing I did last time. Hence, me going from ‘Big Love’ to romantic comedy, to period film… I can’t sit still.
In social, you have to innovate in information. If you have the same thing as everyone else, you’re just not interesting.
I get asked that almost every day, but I’ve been saying the same thing… I’m not going to take any more stupid questions about Donald Trump. It’s not what I focus on every day.
It’s easier to sell cotton candy than it is to sell broccoli to somebody, but the broccoli is better for you, and the same thing with a limited government.
For me, a spiritual and existential crisis is the same thing in that your foundation gets rocked.
All poems say the same thing, and each poem is unique. Each part reproduces the others, and each part is different.
Being a doctor has taught me a lot about directing. You’re doing the same thing: You’re reconstructing the manifold of behavior to the point where an audience says, yes, that’s exactly like people I know.
I try and make little stories. Whether it’s with a pencil or with bits of records, it’s really the same thing.
In rowing, you’re always striving for that perfect stroke, that repetition, each one being as good as the last. Same thing with cooking. You can’t say, ‘Oh, I don’t feel well, so I’m going to put out a crappy plate.’
What does that represent? There was never any question in plastic art, in poetry, in music, of representing anything. It is a matter of making something beautiful, moving, or dramatic – this is by no means the same thing.
When I’m doing a movie, I eat the same thing every day. For lunch, it’s tuna salad or chicken salad and cole slaw. That’s it. For dinner it’s either veal and rice, fish and rice or steak and rice. It gets boring; boy, does it get boring.
Any characters that make me think, ‘I don’t know if I can do this,’ are the ones I most want to do. I don’t want to do the same thing over and over.
Like the rabid fans of sports, the same goes for fans and their actors, TV shows and movies. You love what you love, and it bonds you with others who love the same thing.
Life is a process of working out what’s not working for you and disentangling yourself from it and trying then not walk into the same thing again. Watching your patterns and correcting them if you can.
To be a real man, I think you have to be supportive of each other and to be a real woman you have to be supportive of your man, and the man has to do the same thing, only then he would be a real man.
I have musical ADD or something, and I get bored doing the same thing over and over. I love different sounds, different influences.
I do not separate Christ from God more than a voice from the speaker or a beam from the sun. Christ is the voice of the speaker. He and the Father are the same thing, as the beam and the light, are the same light.
As a standup performer, I’m onstage, and it’s important how the audience is looking at me. I’m looking at whether they’re leaning forward or not, those types of things. You read an energy. And it’s the same thing in a scene with other actors.
I know that baseball players have certain rituals or habits that they develop, because sometimes it becomes somewhat superstitious if they get on a streak and want to do the same thing over and over again.
What’s funny is funny. The same thing that made you laugh a hundred years ago makes you laugh now.
I think there’s a lot of similarity between what people try to do with religion with what they want from art. In fact, I very specifically think that they are same thing. Not that religion and art are the same, but that they both tap into the same need we have for surrender.
I hate picking out outfits for events. That’s why I always wear the same thing when I go out – OK, not exactly the same, but always something easy. If it isn’t a big fashion event, it’ll be jeans and a nice top.
People don’t need to feel scared about a leather pant. Think of it as a jean alternative: it’s the same thing. It’s almost like they’re your yoga pants, but they look chic.
By the way, if you do your job on behalf of your country, you have meetings where you put your position forward strongly, and the other side does the same thing. And I’ve had plenty of meetings in my career that really were heated, people yelling at each other.
I always choose roles that are, you know, hopefully different from the last role. I don’t wanna do the same thing over and over again because that’s, well, first of all that’s no fun.
I’m not going to be a guy that retires and keeps coming back. When I’m gone, I’m gone. Same thing as amateur wrestling; when I won the world championships in Olympics, I left and I never went back. Same for pro.
I think most actors will tell you the same thing; when you’re not working you put 100 percent into every audition.
I always wear the same thing at home. I can’t be bothered with jewelry. My pants have elastic waists. I like to be comfortable. There are so many more important things to worry about.
And the actual achievements of biology are explanations in terms of mechanisms founded on physics and chemistry, which is not the same thing as explanations in terms of physics and chemistry.
I do a lot of gay-friendly stuff in my show, and men, women, they all love it. I practice non-judgment in my daily life and hope other people do the same thing.
I’ve always been outwardly personal. I’ve always been that chick. A lot of my friends be like, ‘TMI, Tiffany, TMI.’ I just feel like it’s important to share your experience on this Earth, because you never know who’s watching, who might be going through the same thing, who might feel devastated.
When you change defenses, it’s the same thing a lot of times. But different terminology means different things in that new defense. So you have to get accustomed to that. You have to study. Get in your books and pay attention.
I’m not gonna be bad at anything, and I want to actually be the best at anything I’m doing. So if I’m playing basketball, if I’m taking the SATs, like, there’s a competitive spirit behind it. With production, it’s the same thing.
For instance, some early ideas for Florida were done only recently. The idea of a little village was there from the beginning and now we have this ‘Celebration’ village. Same thing for the Disney Institute. Walt talked about this idea in the very first.
We used to get on planes, and they’d ask who we were, and we’d say, ‘The Dave Brubeck Quartet’, and they’d say, ‘Who?’ In later years they’d say, ‘Oh’, which amounts to the same thing.
In symphonic music, when you are conducting, you do the same thing. You are feeling the whole orchestra, thinking ahead so you can prepare for a change.
Things that become important to economies become ritualized and become deified. Because I’m Jewish, I always thought it was interesting that in Judaism, salt seals a bargain, particularly the covenant with God. Some people, when they bless bread, they dip it in salt. Same thing exists in Islam.
I tell everybody the same thing: You have to make every dish so when you taste it, you should remember it when you go home.
I can help a lot of other people who’ve gone through the same thing by building a center that will help men and women who don’t have the funds to take care of themselves and get the medical treatment.

Hair extensions and wigs are not the same thing. Wigs are for old ladies and drag queens. Extensions are for women who want longer hair. To be safe, never bring it up if you think a woman is wearing either. No good comes of it.
