I feel like if you’re stuck doing the same thing your whole career you’ve got to be doing something wrong. Unless you’re getting great results from it or you’re just comfortable in that spot.
There’s no one right way to be a person, we’re all just doing our best. So the same thing should apply to parenting and raising your children and the things you go through.
People don’t like the same thing. You have to keep their attention.
I feel like directing is more about who the individual is rather than if they’re a man or a woman. It’s kind of hard to generalize and group all of us female filmmakers into one group, like we’re all going provide you with the same thing, because we’re not. We’re all individuals.
I was almost 8 years old when I was watching a kid on a TV commercial, and I told my mom that I wanted to do the same thing. She said that I would need to get an agent and that she would research it.
Everyone has been in a social situation where you say something and it goes unnoticed, then someone else says the same thing and everyone laughs a lot. You learn how to be more creative and whacky and amusing.
All of us in social media and regular media, we’re all competing for the same thing, which is this gap between something happening in the world and you knowing about it.
I noticed that mainstream western TV channels, especially CNN and ABC, show the same thing.
When I moved to New York City from Israel, I came here with the idea to get a great job, have tons of fun, and make a lot of money. Growing up in Israel, I watched a lot of American TV, and I thought it’s what the ‘cool’ people did, and I wanted the same thing.
If you ask the guys I played with when I was little, they’ll all tell you the same thing. All I did was catch and shoot. I didn’t do anything else.
I like technology, but the blockbuster games use it for the same thing over and over again.
When you’re doing that TV thing, you’re doing the same thing for years and years. You can fall into bad habits as an actor and I think it can take a toll on your ability to act, which I think is scary.
People make a star out of actors after one or two films and keep capitalising on the same thing without having the courage of exploring the world of cinema, which has so much to offer.
It’s very difficult, I think, for people to be around you when you’re getting lots of attention. It’s very difficult for young people to understand what that’s about when people start treating you differently when you’ve been doing the same thing you were doing the day before.
The only advantage of the CD is that you have a booklet that can tell a bit of a story, but the little covers are just boring. I love vinyl, and I have loads of it. It’s the same thing as digital photography versus film photography. It’s a quality thing.
No man pays double or twice for the same thing, forasmuch as nothing can be spent but once.
I don’t want to be totally repetitive and doing the same thing over and over again for the rest of my life. I don’t want to do that at all.
I think winter wear is communal. You get some gloves and a scarf from a lost-and-found box, wash them, wear them for a while until you lose them. Then somebody else does the same thing.
Labels make us feel worse about ourselves, and I would love for all models, no matter what their size, to be treated equally and called the same thing.
Any time you take a movie to stage, you can’t do the same thing; it’s not gonna work.
I don’t mind being older. I’m proud of my age. I’ve achieved a lot. It’s the same thing with Mick and the Stones. They should be revered and respected. Isn’t it strange that now we’re living longer we have so much less respect for old age? Perhaps it’s a less valuable commodity?
I’ve always been into dressing nicely. My dad’s really into fashion, also. We’ll always go out and buy stuff. He has his own style and I have my own style, but it’s a shared thing. Same thing with my grandfather; he was really into his style, so it’s just sort of been passed down, I think.
I find it quite unsettling if I’m doing the same thing that I did yesterday.
I would say that I would do the same thing with any other members of the rascals that are still alive.
My brother never got an opportunity to throw a pitch, and I didn’t want the same thing to happen to another young kid.
A consumer doesn’t take anything away: he doesn’t actually consume anything. Giving the same thing to a thousand consumers is not really any more expensive than giving it to just one.
After doing a total of five years of ‘Daily Grace,’ you kind of get burned out on doing the same thing over and over again, so I am allowing myself to not have totally any specific structure.
You can’t plan to write a great song. It just happens to you. It drops in your lap. It’s the same thing with a woman.
There are directors you never, ever want to get close to. Lubitsch was one. Outside of the work, I don’t think I ever said five words to him. Mamet was pretty much the same thing. His mind is working all the time.
I get tired of wearing the same thing all the time too.
I don’t see my dancing or acting as two separate things. I don’t define them separately, so I can’t say one has helped the other, It’s all the same thing. More than anything I love being on stage and performing.
On Disney, we stick to the script. But you go to the ‘Grown Ups set’ and it’s completely different. Same thing with Tyler Perry – it’s nothing but ad-libbing.
I show the people I love that I love them by gathering them in my kitchen and feeding them, so no surprise that most of my characters do the same thing.
I needed to feed my family. I read a couple of the episodes. How can you keep on doing the same thing?
My dad’s a scratch golfer and I’ve got the knack of seeing something and then replicating it. I saw my dad swing a club and I worked out how to do the same thing. My backswing and follow-through have been basically the same since I was two.
My mum was very conscious about fashion and my dad was born into the tailoring tradition, so fashion has always been my life, although now, really, I wear the same thing – just in different weights – light and heavy cashmere in winter and cotton in summer.
Everything about filmmaking is incredibly weird, and there’s nothing natural about watching yourself on the big screen or hearing your voice. It’s that same thing that you feel when you watch yourself on a video camera and you hate the sound of your voice – it’s that times 800.
Different people in different parts of the world can be thinking the same thoughts at the same time. It’s an obsession of mine: that different people in different places are thinking the same thing but for different reasons. I try to make films which connect people.
They say that gardens look better when they are created by loving gardeners rather than by landscapers, because the garden is more tended to and cared for. The same thing goes for cooking. I only cook for people I love.
I loved acting, I started as a child and it is interesting because I didn’t compare myself to others that were doing the same thing. I just felt that I needed to stay focused and stay out of trouble.
Honestly, as a director, at least for me, if I start doing the same thing over and over again, I’m going to get bored really quickly.
No, not rich. I am a poor man with money, which is not the same thing.
You can’t do the same thing every day with the horse. Because they then know the thing inside out, and they’re leading you, not the other way round. You don’t want them to take over. You have to be able to ride the movements and set the movements up; you don’t want them starting before you are ready.
When you go to a concert, part of being there is that you’re all hearing the same thing. It’s about being in a crowd. If you go to a gig and there are two people there, then it’s not the same thing.
You can’t just play the same thing, over and over again.
I believe we all want the same thing – it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re living. We all want to be healthy, happy, to live in peace and prosper. That’s what I connect to.
I took lessons for about everything you could imagine – gymnastics to karate to flute and piano. My mom always definitely kept me in some kind of class or program, but for guitar, I kinda gave up on then kinda just taught myself. Same thing with piano. I’ve never been good with following lessons.
The civil rights movement in the United States was about the same thing, about equality of treatment for all sections of the people, and that is precisely what our movement was about.
I have the same thing every day. I find it comforting. I have a banana, but I can never eat the whole banana. And I’ll drink a couple of Actimels. And some kind of cereal with almond milk. And then after that, I have a Coke.
I never really think of acting and directing as being separate; they are just different expressions of the same thing.
When I’m asked who my audience is, I say someone with an open mind, which is not a vacant one and sometimes a liberal mind is not the same thing as an open one.
Since Chris Albrecht took over the network, I think more and more people are finding Starz. He made HBO what HBO became, and now he’s doing the same thing at Starz.
Everything I do tries to do the same thing, which is to express things that are hard to express, hidden things.
