I don’t think of myself as a role model. I do try to live in a compassionate, considerate and positive way. The only advice I can offer is to find what you love to do, find the joy in it, and express yourself through your passion.
Take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly, and try another. But by all means, try something.

Don’t try to teach a pig to sing. It doesn’t work, and it annoys the pig.
Don’t try to impress people. Always be yourself!
Try not to get lost in comparing yourself to others. Discover your gifts and let them shine! Softball is amazing that way as a sport. Everyone on the field has a slightly different ability that makes them perfect for their position.
I very much believe in values-based leadership and that the values that I believe in and try to govern by are transcendent values.
If you don’t think every day is a good day, just try missing one.
Family is a unique gift that needs to be appreciated and treasured, even when they’re driving you crazy. As much as they make you mad, interrupt you, annoy you, curse at you, try to control you, these are the people who know you the best and who love you.
I want to be proud of this country, but when aspects of our policy don’t align with my ethics, I want to protest them and try to change them.
Texas women have an amazing sense of purpose when they lose it. They’re the best girls in the world – they’re loyal and fun, but when they get mad, they’ll try to kill you.
I feel like guys, girls, whatever it is, you just come out hoping to make the best record. You just try to have a conversation and just create what you’ve talked about. Whatever you find to fit the beat at the time, what the person is down for, wherever the beat takes you towards.
Back when I watched ‘Future Boy Conan,’ I thought I might like to try my hand at animation, but now, not at all.
All my big mistakes are when I try to second-guess or please an audience. My work is always stronger when I get very selfish about it.
I love to put on lotion. Sometimes I’ll watch TV and go into a lotion trance for an hour. I try to find brands that don’t taste bad in case anyone wants to taste me.
Shall we make a new rule of life from tonight: always to try to be a little kinder than is necessary?
I’m not a good dancer, but I try. I don’t really have the moves.
When I wake up, I expect things to be good. If they’re not, then I try to set about trying to make them as good as I can ’cause I know I’m gonna have to live that day anyway. So why not try to make the most of it if you can? Some days, they pan out a little better than others, but you still gotta always just try.
Take risks and try new things.

Being a great baker and pastry chef requires the upmost open mind. I try every dessert that comes my way!
I thought being in the wheelchair might be kind of limiting for me as an actor. It turned out cool in a lot of ways. Of course, at the end of the day, I can get up out of the chair and go home, but I’m very acutely aware that most people can’t, so I try to give the situation that depth.
Perfectionism is not a quest for the best. It is a pursuit of the worst in ourselves, the part that tells us that nothing we do will ever be good enough – that we should try again.
No one really listens to anyone else, and if you try it for a while you’ll see why.
As with most things in my life, I believe you should try to enjoy yourself and never feel like you are a slave to a routine.
Be original. That’s my best advice. You’re going to find that there’s something that you do well, and try to do it with as much originality as you can, and don’t skimp on the words. Work on the words.
I had a ukulele when I was much younger. I have no idea what happened to it but I think that was part of it, just being inspired and wanting to try to play an instrument that, to me, sounded beautiful.
I do close to 30 minutes in cardio at a very high rate. I raise the level of intensity. I do a level 18 on the elliptical at four miles an hour for 20 minutes. That’s 360 calories. I want to see someone else try that. The resistance factor at 18 is brutal. No one goes to 20.
I have to say that I’ve always believed perfectionism is more of a disease than a quality. I do try to go with the flow but I can’t let go.
The important thing is to learn a lesson every time you lose. Life is a learning process and you have to try to learn what’s best for you. Let me tell you, life is not fun when you’re banging your head against a brick wall all the time.
I try to be cool with everybody, but sometimes, everybody just has different personalities, motives, and different characters.
Don’t believe everything you read in the press. If somebody starts with me, I try to mess them up, but I don’t look for trouble.
It was the winter of war, in 1939. It felt completely pointless to try to create pictures… I suddenly felt an urge to write down something that was to begin with ‘Once upon a time.’
I taught myself to tune in to another person’s wavelength, figure out what they were looking for, and try to project that thing back at them.
Every day I try to be in communication with the universe in an unconscious way.
Even though the album is an endangered species, can we try and make a coherent and good one, even if it’s like making a horse and cart at a Nascar conference?
Do not wait for extraordinary circumstances to do good action; try to use ordinary situations.
I like to delude myself that I’m in the old-Hollywood mode. I just tailor my clothes well and try to keep my skin clear. While it would be great to work out an hour a day, there is something inherently sort of selfish about it. I can’t do it.
Any time I try to play anything that doesn’t come natural, I’m just plain bad.
I try to talk on the phone as little as possible.
I try to lead by example, being conscious of others and being responsible.

People try to change too much at once and it becomes overwhelming, and they end up falling off the program. So gradually changing bad habits makes much more of a difference than trying to change them all at once.
I don’t like to try very hard. Most of the time it’s just jeans, a T-shirt and Converse trainers. Casual, comfortable and boyish is how I’d describe my look. The way people wear clothes makes them stylish, rather than the clothes themselves.
I don’t go off and sit down and try to write material, because then it’s contrived and forced. I just live my life, and I see things in a word or a situation or a concept, and it will create a joke for me.
If I play, I try to concentrate on producing my best.
In life, you have ups and downs, but you should never give up. You should always try to get ahead.

With my platform, anyway, I want to try and do good things and want to help people.
I hate letting my teammates down. I know I’m not going to make every shot. Sometimes I try to make the right play, and if it results in a loss, I feel awful. I don’t feel awful because I have to answer questions about it. I feel awful in that locker room because I could have done something more to help my teammates win.
Some pain is simply the normal grief of human existence. That is pain that I try to make room for. I honor my grief.
