People like Prince or Madonna, they’re kind of superhuman. You can’t imagine them burning their toast, and there’s something really exciting about that.
The only reason I wanted ‘Making Toast’ as the title is that it is a simple gesture of moving on. Every morning there’s the bread and you make the toast and you start the day.

Especially with Instagram, I feel reluctant to make all the photos beautiful because I don’t necessarily want to send this message that life is perfect and your avocado toast is always going to be beautifully lit. I want readers to feel like the Man Repeller page is real and kind of dirty. Messy.

There is a bright spot or two for the Spaniards. French toast has become freedom toast on the Air Force One breakfast menu, but the Spanish omelet is still a Spanish omelet.
