I can remember before ‘Rain Man,’ I just couldn’t get in on anything, any features. After that and it winning the Oscar – the next year, I co-starred in six movies.
Americans are future-minded to the point of obsession. We are impatient at living in the present. Tomorrow is bound to be better… next year, next century, always what might be rather than what is. This trait in us makes for ‘progress;’ it also makes for a continuing dissatisfaction.
I’m 40 next year and I’m very well aware that where I am now, it becomes a bit of a wilderness for actresses.

I went to Willoughby Girls High, I finished my high school certificate and then I did shorthand and typing the next year. Then started travelling and never used it since.

I got a series with the WB next year. We start shooting in July. It’s going to be called Safe Harbor, and it’s an hour show. It’s a Spelling show and will follow 7th Heaven.
