The great thing is, it’s not just about me and my impact. What you want to do is come in here and be a great teammate, lead by your excellence. That’s all I’ve been trying to do.
I’m just worried about being a good quarterback first, and being a great teammate.
Having the trust and respect from your teammate is where it starts and that is getting to know guys off the court, even before basketball.
Bottom line, I have nothing but respect for Peyton Manning… He was always a great teammate to me; he’s still a great friend to this day.
I wouldn’t be anywhere close to where I am today without my pops. I think a lot of a football player’s makeup is mental, and I’ve been blessed to have someone to learn from. Not just from a technical standpoint, but everything he taught me about being a hard worker, a teammate and just being a football player.
I get a feeling about where a teammate is going to be. A lot of times, I can turn and pass without even looking.
I was also very lucky to be a teammate of two of the greatest players to have ever played the game. I learned very early on by playing for Frank Robinson and with Henry Aaron that even the greatest players in the game were just one of the guys.
