I grew up with parents who liked the old line that they didn’t leave the Democratic Party – the Democratic Party left them.
They knew that Roosevelt and the Democratic party made a difference on them, on their quality of life issues, and they believed in that. But today it is completely different.
This is a struggle for the soul of the Democratic Party, which in too many cases has become so corporate and identified with corporate interests that you can’t tell the difference between Democrats and Republicans.
The reason why the Democratic Party fell from grace is because they become nothing more than elitist. That was it. Goldman Sachs – that’s who they were.
Why has the Democratic Party become so arrogantly detached from ordinary Americans? Though they claim to speak for the poor and dispossessed, Democrats have increasingly become the party of an upper-middle-class professional elite, top-heavy with journalists, academics and lawyers.
Too often, the Democratic Party has been split between its grass-roots activists on one side and its elected officials and party leaders on the other. It’s important to remember: We need both wings to fly.
I am inclined to believe that it would be easier to build a new party than to save the Democratic Party from itself.
So I think we’re, we’re, we’re as broad a political party, if not broader than the Democratic Party, just in a different political spectrum.
Because Bernie is going to bring in progressives and not lobbyists and people who are pro-corporate… for the establishment of the Democratic party, Bernie Sanders was more dangerous than Donald Trump.

In other times, I could stand here and give this kind of exposition on the beliefs of the Democratic Party and that would be enough. But today that is not enough. People want more.
