If there is a magic stadium in Europe, then it is the Bernabeu.
In the stadium, when it is very noisy, you only have a limited influence as a coach. You need players on the field who understand the plan and who will talk to the guys when things are not going well.
If a couple of people are watching I feel better than in a full stadium.
It’s frustrating to see a club as great as West Ham not really pushing for the top six, they have everything, they have the fans, the stadium, they have to be pushing for top 6 without a doubt.
Had the WWE fights were artificial and pre-scripted, there would have been no need for wrestlers like The Great Khali and The Undertaker. You cannot fool thousands of people crammed into a stadium and sitting four to five feet away from you in the ring.
The only good part of driving to Anaheim is the In-N-Out just before you reach the stadium.
Arsenal is known and loved throughout the world for its style of play, its commitment to young players, the fantastic stadium, the way the club is run.
Confronting a stadium audience, you can’t see the whites of their eyes. It’s just an amorphous mass of noise and, of course, you can’t see the alleged billions watching at home either, so the degree to which you are intimidated is quite low.
The ‘Night Train’ has already been a crazy ride for me. We flew around making TV appearances and stadium announcements all over the country, fueled by little more than coffee and adrenaline… so many fans jumped on board with us, and I couldn’t be more thankful.
I remember, my first job when I got my working papers at 13 was as a vendor at Yankee Stadium – the old Yankee Stadium, with very steep stairs in the upper decks. It was all commission-based. And I think a soft drink was 25 cents, and I think you got a 10 percent or 11 percent commission.
The psychology of sport is so important. When you are standing at the crease, in front of a stadium full of people, it’s a pretty intense experience. So you need to have the psychological tools to control your mind and deliver your best performance.
Racism at the stadium should be ignored, it is not right that this minority are given so much attention.
The most important thing however is the money. What use would it be to us, to have a a mighty stadium but a useless team, because we couldn’t afford anything better?
Yankee Stadium is a natural venue for another lesson: You won’t succeed all the time. Even Ruth, Gehrig, and DiMaggio failed most of time when they stepped to the plate. Finding the right path in life, more often than not, involves some missteps.
That smell of freshly cut grass makes me think of Friday night football in high school. The smell of popcorn and cigar smoke reminds me of the stadium. The cutting of the grass reminds me of the August practice.
When you play against Roger, it’s always special. First, because you play in a big area, in a big stadium anyway. And every time the crowd is for him, so it’s quite a good sensation.
I don’t watch cricket very much, but of course I enjoy whenever I see the sport, especially live, because of the energy in the stadium with the fans going crazy.
Arsenal fans are real lovers of the game. They don’t miss anything in the stadium and are there for the team and the individual players. I have to admit I love banners like ‘We don’t need Batman, we’ve got Robin’ and stuff like that.
I sometimes think about playing with my friends in our own little stadium in Bosingen, and about how I used to dream of fans cheering my name.

For thousands of years, the most physically imposing buildings on earth were temples, churches, and mosques. But in the 20th century, new houses of worship came to dominate the landscape. Yankee Stadium is the most storied of these contemporary shrines.
I always leave for the stadium on the second bus. Never the first. And I have to have new shoes – brand new shoes – for every game. Same with gloves. But I don’t use my gloves in pregame, so the first football I catch with my new gloves each game is the first ball I catch in the game.
Having a stadium in France named after a footballer from the Ivory Coast, even if I’m proud of my France-Ivory Coast background, is a great proof of integration.
I actually went to the first game in Saints history. We were living in New Orleans at the time. I was eight. They opened against the L.A. Rams in 1976. I went with my dad, and we bought standing-room only seats at Tulane Stadium. We actually sat in the aisle.
Every time I hear that Champions League song, it reminds me of hearing it for the first time in the old Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam.
It’s always an honor to play on Arthur Ashe stadium.
San Siro is a historic stadium. It’s nice, but it doesn’t offer comfort.
I enjoy running in Doha. The stadium is close and intimate, which makes you feel connected with the fans.
My family was pretty solidly middle-class. We had a furniture store out near Connie Mack Stadium, and when Dad died, my mom took it over.
You can sit and imagine what it is like to go into a hostile stadium, or what it’s like to play for the AFC championship, but you never know until you do it.
I think Levi’s Stadium is phenomenal.
I’ve always enjoyed playing there. As you drive into Newcastle you see the stadium and you get a buzz. It’s a good feeling.
When I was with the Yankees in 1978, we were playing Baltimore at Yankee Stadium, and the score was 3 – 3 going into the bottom of the ninth inning. I led off against Tippy Martinez – a little left-hander who always gave me trouble – and the count went to three-and-oh.
I love to play finals. I love to play on the big stadium.

Our stadium seats over 80,000, and we sell all of our tickets.
The president is just the coach of a football team. You need the right support, the right stadium, the right players, the right staff. An excellent coach is not going to win games.
I grew up five minutes from the stadium and watched it being built. I’d play football right outside and look up at this huge stadium with all the cranes and building work and think, ‘One day, when it’s finished, I need to be playing in here.’
Someone like Harry Kane, I can tell you that his mindset will be: ‘I’m staying at Tottenham, I’m going to break every single record, I’m going to captain this club into the new stadium.’ When you’ve got a player like him with that mindset, I don’t think Tottenham have to worry.
Wrestling has to be more aggressive. It has to be bigger; it has to translate to the back of a football stadium. With acting, when that camera is up close, they can see your nose hairs twitch, and you have to pull back everything for it not to look clownish. There is that different mindset.
I’ve been looking forward to going back to Huddersfield. I was manager when the club moved from Leeds Road to the new stadium and it contributed to us getting promotion.
Why do people care about anything we do? We play in a crappy stadium, in a market that we share with another team, with one of the lowest payrolls in the game. Really, I’m not that interesting.
It was a dream to play in a stadium as impressive as the Santiago Bernabeu.
A stadium tour would be amazing – that’s definitely one of my goals. Just to keep putting out real, honest music that people can really relate to and connect with.
I love Major League Soccer, covered the first game in 1996 in a funky stadium in San Jose, and I applaud just about every move that its commissioners, Garber and Doug Logan, have made.
You’re naturally the villain when you go in an opponent’s stadium anyway, so you might as well not shy away from it. You just bask in it and enjoy it.
I traveled to many countries when I played. But wherever I went, it was a journey between an airport, a hotel, a stadium and a railway station or a bus terminal and I didn’t have a chance to experience these places properly.
I’ve been to two stadium gigs in my life. One was James Brown and the other was Pink Floyd. They both sounded the same. I couldn’t tell the difference between James Brown and Pink Floyd. I’ve never liked stadiums.
Playing in Wembley Stadium in front of 83-some-thousand fans to win a gold medal was unreal.

I had a lot of friends, family friends, that had season tickets, and we’d all go when we were little kids. And you’d go after you played your own baseball game and change out of your uniform in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium to go put on street clothes and go watch the game.
Every time you step in the stadium on Sunday, you’re facing a good team. This is the NFL.
