I have an affinity for Disney and the Princess.
When I was 11, I had an Ugly Sister birthday party. All my idea. Most girls want to be a fairy or a princess, but there I am with beauty spots and fur and fluorescent pink kiss-curls.
I think women should be more independent. In society, we’re portrayed as people who simply wear make-up and sit around. We need a Princess Charming – a woman who rescues her man and slays the dragon instead of the other way round.
I am the princess of G.O.O.D. Music, the first lady of G.O.O.D. Music, the baby of G.O.O.D. Music. I’m kinda the spoiled brat right now. I could get whatever I want.
With Trixie specifically, on the one hand, it’s a celebration of femininity. It’s that moment when you’re playing Pretty Pretty Princess, and there’s also, this is what society says a girl looks like, the amount of makeup I wear and the humongous blond wigs.
I never wanted to nap. I was always mature for my age. I wanted to put on a dress and look cute. Everyone else can nap, but I’m going to be a princess over here!
People tend to associate fairies with princesses, but they couldn’t be more different. Princesses have dynastic and domestic pressures, and they get parked on glass hills. Fairies don’t have families. They don’t clean or cook. They sip nectar from flowers and dance by the light of the moon.
The Princess’s so-called ‘time and space speech’ at the end of ’93 about a year after the formal separation, looking back on it it’s called her retirement from public life but we’ve seen in fact it’s nothing of the kind.
There is no chance of my marrying Princess Margaret.
I’m such a geek now with princesses. It’s pathetic.
It’s fun being a princess, but it’s not very practical! You’re trudging through the forest and the mud and all of the elements. You kind of think, ‘How did they do this back then?’ Thank God I can put on my Nike trainers and walk around the rest of the day!
The most frequent thing people said to me about Princess Diana when I was conducting interviews for my biography was that she could create a circle of intimacy in the middle of a crowd.
I depended a lot on being an over-the-top, ridiculous, obnoxious, Staten Island Princess. That’s what I did, and I guess the rest is history.
I was quite the spoiled brat. I have quite a temper, obviously inherited from my father, and I became very good at ordering everyone around. I was the princess; the staff were absolutely terrified of me.
My dad would call me his Cuban princess because I had really dark olive skin because I was always in the sun; but I don’t really go in the sun anymore, so that is why I am so white.
The first thing I remember writing was a poem – about a princess who sat on a hill and sang all day – when I was eight.
I don’t care if the critics don’t like me. I want to be the people’s designer, like Diana was the people’s princess.
I never dreamt to be a princess in my life; I really dreamt to be an actress, but I dreamt of princesses on screen.
I was too shy to go and meet Princess Diana.
Unfortunately, as obsessed as I am with all of those Grimm’s slash Disney princesses, I do think women have evolved socially in so many ways.
It wouldn’t bother me at all if I weren’t Princess Caroline of Monaco.
Ever since I discovered this place, it was always my dream to do a ‘princess’ photoshoot here at Chowmahalla Palace.
My interest in Princess Margaret comes through Vanessa Kirby’s brilliant portrayal of her in ‘The Crown.’ Rather than do the classic story from beginning to end, this book gives you many different glimpses. You get a much more intimate sense of the person through little incidents, stories, and gossip.
I loved working with Cary Elwes, who is in ‘The Princess Bride’, one of my favorite films. He’s a great guy.
I mean, I was first offered Princess Astra.
‘Seanan McGuire’ is my real name; if I’m being silly and third-person about it, she’s a frequently cranky, foul-mouthed Disney Princess on vacation in the real world, where she studies diseases, cuddles reptiles, watches lots of horror movies, and goes to as many corn fields as possible.
I was shortly again at the castle, and the Princess gave me her hand to kiss and then brought her children, the young princes and princesses, and we played together, as if we had known each other for years.
My mom won’t let anyone treat me like a little princess.
I grew up when Disney was doing movies like Cinderella, and all the girls were princesses.

Gonpo Tso was born a princess. As a young woman, she dressed in fur-trimmed robes with fat ropes of coral beads strung around her neck. She lived in an adobe castle on the edge of the Tibetan plateau with a reception room large enough to accommodate the thousand Buddhist monks who once paid tribute to her father.
![You know when you have a party as a kid, and your mom h](/wp-content/uploads/43415-great-sayings.com.jpg)
You know when you have a party as a kid, and your mom hires a fairy, princess, or superhero to come host the party? I was Fairy Lavender. I loved it. It was good training for theater.
People can get certain good things out of fame, but until it killed a princess nobody ever talked about how bad it can be.
I’m entranced by Amanda Lovelace’s work. She wrote two wonderful books, ‘The Princess Saves Herself in This One’ and ‘The Witch Doesn’t Burn in This One.’ You can feel your heart opening because she says things that you thought only you felt.
People thought that I had all the money in the world and that I was this little perfect princess posing with her hand on her hip and her blonde hair and her curls.
Princess Diana was an icon and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity and I will strive to do her justice.
I think, having done ‘The Princess Diaries,’ it was a fun experience, and it’s cool to have made fans that are now into all this music. That movie is still so relevant to our culture. It’s always on. It’s kind of a rare, nostalgic thing. I get tweets all the time about it.
All rappers are princesses like me.
I think that since it’s prom, you should definitely wear a long dress. You can wear a short one anytime! This is the moment when you get to be a princess, and for me, that means a sweetheart neckline, long, then pouf – out and big.
Before the final battle in ‘Poison Princess,’ Evie remembered how to use her Empress powers, practiced with them to the point of exhaustion, then had a trial by fire. In a way, she earned those powers, as she hadn’t before, so that was certainly a confidence builder.
I really want to play Princess Leia. Stick some big pastries on my head. Now that would be interesting.
I prefer Princess. I would love to be known as a diva later on in life when I’ve had far more experiences.

I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to bring Peter Morgan’s Princess Elizabeth to life; she is a gift of a role and a challenge I am so grateful for – a young woman trying to navigate a path through an extraordinary situation.
Being a princess isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Every young girl wants to be a princess. Then, when you find a real-life one, it’s very easy to imagine yourself in that role.
Remember that I wrote a pavane for a dead princess, and not a dead pavane for a princess!
I found myself at dusk in the bewitching Roman city of Jerash with H.M. Queen Rania of Jordan one year, and scrambling with hardened paparazzi to get an image of the Princess of Wales in a tiny Nepalese clinic in the foothills of the Himalayas another.
The first Disney movie I saw I think was ‘Snow White.’ I loved all the Disney princess movies.
The first ‘Star Wars’ film was enormously important. I grew up right smack-bang in the sweet spot of all of those. It’s true cinema magic. It’s fair to say that, as a kid, I would have been very happy to be Han Solo, and I would have been happy to have gone out with Princess Leia.
I did not know that I was being called the ‘Sandalwood Princess.’ It definitely feels good, but more than such titles, it is their love and affection behind such titles that makes me happy.
I’m so happy that everything worked out and Princess allowed me to come into her life and be the best man for her.
If a prince marries a foreign princess, one to the manner born, he is being snobbish and old-fashioned. If he chooses a Diana or a Fergie, glamorous outsiders, they may never adapt to the restrictions of being Royal, with calamitous results.
I find that my entire life has come to me, and things happened without me planning them. You know, I never asked to photograph Princess Diana, and that made me more famous than I wanted. I never asked to photograph Madonna, and that pushed me to another level. There are things that just take you into the limelight.
Rapunzel is a bit more relatable than the other princesses, especially because she doesn’t even know that she’s a princess until the very end of the movie. I like to think of her as the bohemian Disney princess. She’s barefoot and living in a tower. She paints and reads… She’s a Renaissance woman.
‘The Princess Bride’ was a movie that I watched all the time.
There’s only three movies I’ve been involved with in my whole life that I really care about. ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’ was one, and ‘Princess Bride’ was the second, and ‘Hearts in Atlantis’ is the third.
It is very annoying – things have been written by people who didn’t know me at all or Princess Diana. They were written by people who never knew me or met me. It did make me angry. I just stopped reading the papers.
My WWE Divas championship belt is pink and sparkly, but it doesn’t mean I’m a princess. It means girls can kick butt!
My mom used to make my costumes when I was little; she sews a lot. One year, I was a bride and I had a big wedding dress and a bouquet. Another year I was a medieval princess with a long teal dress and a veil. It was a little extravagant, but it was cute!
I keep ‘The Paper Bag Princess’ by Robert Munsch on my shelf to remind me that my prince will love me no matter what I wear. Cheesy!
If Disney wants ideas for a princess, make her an independent woman, one who is not afraid to face the daily struggles of life, and refuses to wear expensive dresses. Because we all know life is messy, and those dresses are too pretty to get dirty.
![I feel like a princess with a knife. I've wanted to be](/wp-content/uploads/43416-great-sayings.com.jpg)
I feel like a princess with a knife. I’ve wanted to be an Iron Chef forever.

The funny thing is that people see one film like ‘Racing Stripes’ or ‘Ice Princess’ and all of a sudden, slip me into this category of ‘that’s what she’s always involved in.’
People talk a lot about, ‘You’re a Disney princess! You’re Cinderella!’ and this and that. But for me, it’s all about the fact that I worked with Cate Blanchett and was directed by Kenneth Branagh. That’s the ‘Cinderella’ story for me.
I was involved with the landmines before the Princess of Wales, and nobody gave a damn about people losing their limbs. It only became a success when she came along.
I wish I could dress like a princess every day.
After many decades of Disney movies, we have been conditioned to expect princesses to fall in love quickly with their charming princes and ‘live happily ever after.’
I am not a princess, I don’t want to be referred to as a princess – I find that super creepy.
When I started writing the screenplay for ‘The Queen,’ about the aftermath of the death of Princess Diana, both Stephen Frears, the director, and Andy Harries, the producer, begged me not to put Tony Blair in it.
I remember meeting the princesses at Disney World and getting their autographs.
I won’t say I will direct it. I am not sure I am the most suitable to do so, as I also hope that it would look good. It would be a lot of pressure. After all, the generation that watched ‘My Fair Princess’ has a certain fondness about the series. But if it’s necessary for me to help, then I will do it!
If I wasn’t a singer, I would be a fairy princess.
Girls like to see girls dressed up like princesses occasionally.
I always wanted to be a princess like Cinderella.
‘The White Princess’ follows Princess Lizzie, who was forced into marriage with Henry Tudor. It’s kind of about how their marriage united the Yorks and the Tudors – the two families do rival but have to unite.
If I would rescue one of my movies, it would be ‘A Little Princess.’
The first game I remember being ridiculously passionate about was Super Mario Bros. 2. It was the first game where you could play as Princess Peach. It wasn’t just a game where the boys had their adventure. Peach was in the game and she was so powerful there.

I love ‘Princess Mononoke,’ ‘My Neighbour Totoro.’

My parents read me fairy tales every night and I used to believe I was a fairytale princess, like every young girl. I had all the Disney dressing-up costumes and would play every character.
Sadly, Princess Diana and I were just about the first divorced women to come under the global press’s microscope. But I have a feeling it’s a full and active club now.
Rapunzel is a bit more relatable than the other princesses, especially because she doesn’t even know that she’s a princess until the very end of the movie. I like to think of her as the bohemian Disney princess. She’s barefoot and living in a tower. She paints and reads… She’s a Renaissance woman.

For much of the final decade of the 20th century, one story regularly dominated the news across much of the developed world. It was the unravelling of the marriage between the heir to the British throne and his beautiful, charismatic princess, Diana.

Princess Anne is like her father. From her, you’ll never hear a complaint of any kind about her upbringing.
A lot of people who watch figure skaters want us to look like pretty princesses. I want people to see the athlete, and I want to look like a woman among girls.
I love ‘The Princess Bride.’ That is a movie that, no matter how I’m feeling, I can turn it on and it makes me feel good.
I’m not a princess. My mother is, not I. I am the niece of a head of state. And with this status, I have some representational duties – nothing very constraining or very exceptional.
I’m excited to see Cassie’s fans and how they react to the ending of ‘Clockwork Princess!’ I love hanging out with readers and seeing the energy readers bring to a room: seeing so many people united in imagination is going to be wonderful.
I really want to play Princess Leia. Stick some big pastries on my head. Now that would be interesting.

I was a newcomer and I was asked to put on weight for ‘Veer’ since I was playing a princess from the era gone by. I received a lot of criticism from those who were supposed to understand such intricacies of cinema.
My fashion icons range from bubblegum pop princesses to grunge queens.
When you’re a little girl, you kind of gravitate towards all of the princesses and things.
There was never any question of Prince Philip’s four sisters being invited to his wedding to Princess Elizabeth. King George decided their connection to Nazi Germany was still too shaming.
Moviewise, I would love to make the story of princess Erendira. She was a 16 year old princess/warrior who led her tribe in war against the Spanish around 1513. She almost defeated them, and the Tarascans were the only tribe the Aztecs couldn’t defeat.
I love princesses. And I think Cinderella is very strong. She’s a young woman thinking outside of her environment, outside of her current situation, and she is choosing to believe that all is possible for her. And I think that is so admirable.
The path of royal romance has never been smooth; Princess Margaret was unable to marry the man she loved because it meant renouncing her royal status, yet her uncle, the Duke of Windsor, gave up an empire for Wallis Simpson.
I think every young girl at some point in her early life wonders what it’s like to be a princess. They like the idea of dressing up and the fun of it.

While not my personal favorite of the Disney princess films, ‘The Little Mermaid’ wins hands-down in my book for best Disney adaptation. Little girls waited for more than 150 years for Hans Christian Andersen’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ to have a happy ending. Walt Disney finally gave it to her.
I’ve learned that I want what I deny. I want someone who is crazy about me, who treats me like a princess. I want the picture-perfect fairy tale stuff.
Adult fantasy gets a bad name. You think of Xena – Warrior Princess. If you don’t do it expensively, it becomes tacky and you end up just appealing to 45-year-old single men.

My first-ever role was the king in ‘The Princess and the Pea.’
Girls like to see girls dressed up like princesses occasionally.
There’s nobody in the world like me. I think every decade has an iconic blonde, like Marilyn Monroe or Princess Diana and, right now, I’m that icon.
I’m always looking for a way to surprise audiences. That’s, I feel, my job as a director. I felt that Amy Adams playing a tough woman in ‘The Fighter’ was a surprise. People saw her as a princess.
It wouldn’t bother me at all if I weren’t Princess Caroline of Monaco.
People imagine that everything is easy when you’re a princess, but we’re still human beings. Some of my friends don’t want to go out with me anymore – to go to a restaurant, I have to use a different door.
I grew up with six brothers, and I’m from Chicago, so princesses and Barbie dolls were not around the house. It was more like sports and comic books, so getting to work for Marvel is like my version of being able to be a princess.
I think Princess Diana probably had the most famous haircut, or Farrah Fawcett or Jennifer Aniston.
Marry Prince William? I’d love that. Who wouldn’t want to be a princess?

The subjects that I am working are movies that say something. They are shouting or criticising something. I would hate to play a princess waiting for the prince to come and give her a kiss.

‘Maaligai,’ where I play a dual role of a cop and a princess, initially was to be made as a Kannada movie. My producers from Mumbai and director Dil Sathya felt that it should be made as a bilingual in Tamil also, as I have a good market in K’town.
I have six brothers, so I definitely was aware of Marvel more than I was of princesses, but once you’re cast in a Joss Whedon Marvel show, you go and become even more of a bigger fan. You do your homework.

I think ‘Apricot Princess’ actually came out before ‘Flower Boy.’
The influence of ‘Hidden Fortress’ comes up a lot because it was printed in a book once. The truth is, the only thing I was inspired by was the fact that it’s told from the point of view of two peasants, who get mixed up with a samurai and princess and a lot of very high-level people.
I’m the Princess of The Authority.
Today, among little girls especially, princesses and the romanticised ideal they represent – finding the man of your dreams – have a limited shelf life.

You may be a princess or the richest woman in the world, but you cannot be more than a lady.
Sometimes work is a bit slow, and I always wanted to be a princess at Disneyland. There were 1,500 of us who auditioned, and 11 of us were hired. I went through all of the training, but never ended up actually getting to play Belle because ‘Revenge’ started. It was the time of my life, though!
If you see me as just the princess then you misunderstand who I am and what I have been through.

I’ve had an unusual career path for a princess.

I’ve made movies that nobody saw initially, and then, all the sudden, people over the years pick up on it. Like ‘Spinal Tap’ and ‘Princess Bride.’
Thank you… fat dude with giant headphones on the subway, for looking like what would’ve happened if Jabba the Hutt mated with Princess Leia.

I am completely fascinated by the differences and comparisons between real life and fairy tales because we’re raised as little girls to think that we’re a princess and that Prince Charming is going to sweep us off our feet.
My fantasy life was very full. I have never dreamed of being a princess. I have not longed for Prince Charming. I have and do long for something resembling a happily ever after. I am supposed to be above such flights of fantasy, but I am not. I am enamored of fairy tales.
Americans fall into two categories when it comes to British royalty: loyalists and rebels. Loyalists made Princess Diana the all-time best-selling 57-time cover girl of People magazine.
The one I really get on with is Princess Anne. Talk about calls a spade a shovel! And she’s so clued-up. She’s a patron of a number of charities. I’ve been involved in a couple and she’s not just a name. She knows the research programmes that are going on. She really does her homework.
King Princess is like an attitude. I take comfort in it as kind of a shield to exist in, where I can make cohesive art. And it’s androgynous, which is intentional. It’s important to me that my art exist in a kind of neutral space, genderless to some degree. And give the listener some imagery to hold on to.
I was too lazy to start a whole new story, so I just stuck a princess into the story I was working on… and The Princess Diaries was born!

I’m like the luckiest girl in the world. I’ve gotten to be a princess, I’ve gotten to work with the Muppets. A lot of my childhood dreams about who I wanted to be when I was a grown-up, I at least get to play them in movies.
Behaving like a princess is work. It’s not just about looking beautiful or wearing a crown. It’s more about how you are inside.
All the Disney Princess films are iconic and beautiful, so to have been a part of all that was really a wonderful part of my life. It’s all fabulous, too, that I have a daughter that appreciates the whole Princess thing.
I think Princess Diana enjoyed it here in Pakistan immensely. She had a good time. But she never came to my family home. She came to my home in Lahore instead.
Blake & Murphy and I used to be best friends. They helped me discover who I am. They taught me that Bliss was good, but bad is better. Because of the boys, I was able to really express who I am instead of being the pixie princess I was pretending to be.
I loved all the princess films, and I grew up with them, and I think it’s really cool how they’ve changed over the years – how the princesses have become more positive role models right up until ‘Frozen.’
It was cool to play an African princess who’s the smartest in the whole world. That never happens. So I hope all the young girls can feel smart, too.
Honestly, I’ve been asking myself how it would feel to be Princess Leia since I was seven years old.
I literally cannot remember a time when I was not asking myself what events in ‘Star Wars’ were like for Princess Leia. The good side of all this is that what looked like ‘goofing off’ or ‘daydreaming’ these many years has all turned out to be valuable career preparation.
‘The Princess Bride’ was a movie that I watched all the time.
I want my mom on ‘Scream Queens’. She could play someone who is convinced she’s Princess Leila. That could be her disease, and then as a plot twist, we could find out that she actually is Princess Leila.
There’s always a sense of tragedy with icons. It happened to both the Princess of Wales and Diana Dors. A lot of people had grown up with them, and everybody loved them. Then, when they had at last found happiness, they were taken in the most dreadful way.

I never faked anything. I never played the Disney game of smiling and being a princess and then suddenly having a hard time, saying, ‘That isn’t who I really am.’
I want to play a princess or some woman from royalty or aristocracy. If I get to have an accent, even better. And I want to play a butt-kicking superhero, like Catwoman.
The King and Queen made the rounds after the film. We were told how we were to respond, and we were in a semi circle in the lounge area of the cinema, they came around after the King, the Queen and both Princesses.

I’m not a pretty princess, and I’m aware of that, so I like music that is really intense, really bold, and characters that in a way almost have a dark side and are kind of evil because, for me, that’s when I feel my strongest and fiercest, when I’m not necessarily the good girl.
I was quite the spoiled brat. I have quite a temper, obviously inherited from my father, and I became very good at ordering everyone around. I was the princess; the staff were absolutely terrified of me.

I do not… look very feminine. Diana, Princess of Wales is feminine… I am… femi-none.
Parenting girls makes you quite gender-conscious – it’s almost impossible to fight the power of pink. It’s not such a terrible thing to want to be a princess when you’re five, but it would be nice if there were some other options.
I was in Boston, Massachusetts, when Princess Diana died.
In 1997, we took time off, and that’s when Oasis broke and Princess Diana died and I was home with my baby hating the music industry. People asked what I thought about the Spice Girls, and honestly, I was so happy to tell them I couldn’t be bothered to care.
Hire me for the next picture. I don’t have to just play down-and-out trailer trash and mean, old, wicked, old nuns. I could play a princess or a queen. That’s all I wanted to do. Because campaigning does go on. It’s a part of selling the film.

I was taken to my first fashion show – Nina Ricci haute couture – in Paris by the White Russian princess, down on her luck, whom I was boarding with in Paris in 1963. I was captivated by the glamour of the gilded salon, the elegant clothes, and the audience of grand ladies.
I’ve totally embraced it. I like Princess Leia. I like how she was feisty.
Princess Diana was a nice dancer because she had confidence. In fact, when we danced together she started to lead, and I looked her in eye and went, ‘No, you have to let me lead.’ So I grabbed her around the waist and we were off to the races.
People tend to associate fairies with princesses, but they couldn’t be more different. Princesses have dynastic and domestic pressures, and they get parked on glass hills. Fairies don’t have families. They don’t clean or cook. They sip nectar from flowers and dance by the light of the moon.
I get treated like a princess in India. It is like a different world.
When Princess Diana died, I couldn’t understand why people were mourning her death in such an enormous, hysterical way when they didn’t actually know her for real.

My original idea was to photograph Princess Diana in her tiara. But then I thought, am I interested in seeing another picture of her as a royal person, or would I rather see what she is actually about? And that’s why I decided to do her without jewels, without shoes, without trimmings.
It’s kind of embarrassing, but in my early 20s, I used to want to be a princess. But I didn’t want to have to marry somebody in order to do it!

Side note, I was Prom Prince. My friend and I campaigned to be Prom King and Queen, and we got the rest of the non-popular people in the school to vote for us. We didn’t win, but we got Prince and Princess.

In Mumbai, life is always on the go, but in Delhi, I get a break; it gives me a lot of peace. Here I feel like I am on a pampered holiday, and I am treated like a princess.

I saw ‘Star Wars’ for the first time when I was four years old. Sure, I thought Princess Leia was awesome. But the character I identified with most was Luke Skywalker. I left the theater certain the Force was strong with me, that I could train to be a Jedi and wield a lightsaber just like Luke.

‘The Princess and the Warrior’ is looking at the same things as ‘Lola’ – just from a different angle.

When I came back from my honeymoon, I was informed that it was not appropriate for a princess to be involved in trade. This came from the court. What about my income? That was my problem, I was told.
