I don’t read when I’m travelling.
My site is about women who want to look good and stay active: women who don’t want to suddenly become ‘just mums.’ But it’s not true that it is only about the glamorous side. Last time I was on a plane with Romy, she was sick all over me, and I wrote a tip about travelling with a change of outfit.
I didn’t have any role models of artists that were in the same playing field as me – making expensive videos, travelling, marketing and promoting an album.

When I am travelling or shooting outdoors, and if there is no gym around, I do pull-ups. If there is a bar somewhere, I manage push-ups, squats, and generally I just sweat it out in the room or my vanity van. But I make sure my workout regime is never hampered at any cost!
Actually it’s a gift as an actor to cover such different parts of history. It’s like time travelling, being inside a history book, in the actual locations.
But, as a kid, I was travelling. Africa, Singapore, Australia, America, South Pacific, Philippines, France – I spent two years in each place and eventually made my way back to Edinburgh University for five years.
Being born in the Pacific Islands, the most travelling I did when I was little was getting the ferry over to the next island.

I wish I could teleport and cut out the travelling in between gigs. I want the luxury of the shows without the painful bits stuck on a tour bus.
