For me, as far as skin, I’m a big advocate of facials. And I moisturize. And I read my magazines. I listen to good advice from people who really know, and I try to watch what I eat.
We’ve won both the best and worst band in so many major magazines – we just get written off so much, but we don’t care.
That whole thing: the paparazzi, a gazillion magazines. You can’t lie on a beach. God forbid your bikini rides up too far or you’ve eaten too many doughnuts and they catch you wiping your mouth. That must be exhausting, that lack of privacy.
I often find myself listening to a record because a lot of people or magazines have told me it’s good and I’m supposed to like it, and I try to stay in touch with what’s happening and I’m also a fan of music. I find myself trying to like something that I really don’t think is that great.

The thing that I like about magazines, paper magazines, and papers in any kind of tangible format is the surprise factor of turning the page and not necessarily knowing what you’re going to see. You’re not looking for something. You’re just experiencing something.
If I’m feeling desperate, I’ll go out image-hunting. I’ll go to news agents and stand at the rack flicking through magazines or go to second-hand bookshops. And then, bit by bit, like concrete poetry, I start to realise that I am drawn to particular things, and then I start wondering why that is.
‘Cloud 9’ is an action/romantic comedy that focuses on the competitive world of snowboarding. We have glamorised it to so that all the players are on the cover of magazines, have all the interviews, and be on the television: so it is very high stakes.
