Too many U.S. adults have a heart age years older than their real age, increasing their risk of heart disease and stroke. Everybody deserves to be young – or at least not old – at heart.
They told me that I had a leaky valve, which is something that is certainly not life-threatening. It’s common and it’s something that had I not known about it, would I have lived? Sure. But it’s something that I think is important to know, especially as I get older and given that I have heart disease in my family.
In grownups, mercury can cause memory loss, tremors, vision loss and numbness of the fingers and toes. It can also adversely affect fertility and blood pressure regulation, and a growing body of evidence suggests that exposure to mercury may lead to heart disease.
While the olive is high in fat, it’s monounsaturated fat, which, in a balanced diet, can help control heart disease by lowering cholesterol levels.
