Hopefully, through all aspects of life, you learn from things you’ve got right, things you’ve got wrong, but I’m not one for looking back. I’m looking ahead; you’ve got to.
Believe it or not, there are some things that I have written that would be kind of a dream to make. Hopefully, I will get to finance them… There is something that I wrote called ‘Demon’s Flare’ which would kind of be a dream come true.
Making movies is about creating illusions, and they can be subtle illusions, but it’s all a cumulative effect as you make these little tweaks. It kinda adds up to something, hopefully.
Among the responsibilities of each citizen in a participatory democracy is keeping ourselves sufficiently informed so that we can participate effectively, argue our positions honorably, and hopefully, forge sufficient consensus to understand each other and then to govern.
For me personally, I just try to prove myself in my work. I’m just trying to get better at what I do, and hopefully that will impact women in music, and hopefully the girls in the crowd will see my up there as a bandleader and think, ‘Wow, maybe I can do that one day.’
