It took me a long time to not think of the universe as a judgmental debit-credit system. I haven’t completely shaken it, but I no longer think that I am overdrawn with God. Grace is not something you earn; its always there. I find this idea a lot more fun.
One thing that being curious and not judgmental does is it has an ancillary effect of reminding you that a lot of anger isn’t really worth it.
When I first studied Billie Holiday’s life story years ago, I admit that I was quite judgmental.
People tell me the most extraordinary things. I’ve noticed it for years. Perhaps they know I won’t be shocked. Or judgmental.
