I don’t like telephones: I don’t like when they ring. Just because it rings, you have to pick it up. I don’t even like opening mail; I’m weird.
I was reading The Bible a lot through my 20s, mostly the Old Testament, just because I was knocked out by the language and the stories. I felt that the God being talked about there, who was this insane, vindictive patriarch – it was kind of thrilling, and titillated something in me at the time.
I feel sometimes and in some ways like Linda Romanoli and Monica Velour; I feel marginalized because I’m in my fifties. If you went online and you look at some of the blogs, which one can do on a lonely night, it’s pretty startling what people will say about you just because you’re in your fifties.
I feel like I’ve been very smart in the way that I carry myself and treat myself. I feel like my mom was a big part of that just because she’s always let us make our own decisions, and we’ve known very much about the mistakes and the dangers already of whatever this Hollywood life may be.
Just because you get a show and it gets on the air doesn’t mean jack. It certainly means that you’ll be considered for stuff, but you’ve got to fight and claw to get every job.
Just because a woman is over 50 does not mean she no longer has anything to offer. If anything, we have so much more to offer! We have lived life, we get better with age. I do my best work now in my 60s. Sure, I could retire; but what would I do? Play Bingo? I think not!
I really connect with every character that I’ve played, just because I kinda have to; as an actor, you want to take them in and get to know them and like them; because they’re evil, you kinda have to like them so that you can understand them and play them and play them with some kind of empathy.
I think I ended up on ‘People’s ’50 Most Beautiful People’ list just because of eyeliner, which is kind of a bummer. But if you do find the right color, it will make your eyes pop.
I’m far from being reclusive. I have 30- or 40-year friendships that I prefer to meeting new people. I go to an occasional party, but just because I don’t go to a lot of events, and I’m not out in public all the time doesn’t mean I’m anti-social or a recluse.
Just because your ratings are bigger doesn’t mean you’re better.
The first thing I do every day when I wake up is thank God for letting me make it through the night and giving me another day of life – just because sometimes I wake up, and I cannot believe I’m doing what I’m doing. I just thank Him. I don’t know how I deserve it, but it’s completely because of Him.
Just because it’s automatic doesn’t mean it works.
There are gays and lesbians in every country, so there should be no discrimination against them just because of their destiny.
We shouldn’t be put out to pasture just because we’ve reached somebody’s idea of retirement, which was certainly happening in Australia, and I think elsewhere as well.
College is right for some people, and it’s not for others. I shouldn’t rush into it just because that’s what everyone does after high school is you go to college.
I’m not going to talk about Picasso. I have done my duty to those memories. I have had a great career as an artist myself, you know. I’m not here just because I’ve spent time with Picasso.
When I first did ‘The Fast and the Furious’, I didn’t want there to be a sequel on the first one. I thought, ‘Why would you rush to do a sequel – just because your first film is successful?’
I knew I didn’t want to make a country record just because that’s not really what I would have ever made as a solo artist.
Just because you have teenagers in a movie doesn’t make it a teen movie.
Hollywood is the place to be for actors – and there’s just a big rush when an Australian comes over just because there’s less of them. I guess that’s just how it is. Like if you pick a pink jellybean out of a jar of green ones it’d be amazing, but if you pick a green one, no one will care.
Just because you’re struggling with self-discipline doesn’t mean you have to raise the white flag and declare your self-improvement efforts a complete failure. Instead, work to increase the chances that you’ll stick to your healthier habits – even when you don’t feel like it.
Just because a situation is grim doesn’t mean you don’t have every right to smile.
I was unpopular at school just because I was an intellectual. I always answered all the questions off the top of my head but they nevertheless resented because of that.
Just because my bank account hasn’t swelled astronomically I don’t consider myself any less of a success.
There’s nothing like theater. It’s really amazing. But it does take up all of your time. I would like to get into more film, just because I find it super fascinating.
I think I’m prouder of ‘The Victim’ than anything else, just because, if nothing else, it doesn’t look silly, it doesn’t look stupid. It holds up. It’s fun. A lot of people have enjoyed it, and I’m real happy about it.
I don’t accept films just because they have star heroes in lead. I rejected a few big films because I didn’t like the story.
Just because I don’t have a college degree doesn’t mean I am not smart!
Just because you are successful in one area does not necessarily mean you’re going to be successful in another.
I guess if you split the difference between the U.K. and the U.S., you would get Canada. But that’s just due to proximity. Just because of distance, we get a lot more cultural spillover from America.
The best feeling in the world is performing in front of a live audience who like what you’re doing. I can understand why people become dictators just because of the thrill they get making the speeches.
Just because you make a good plan, doesn’t mean that’s what’s gonna happen.
It would be a mistake to think something is wonderful just because it looks great.
Just because a woman is beautiful doesn’t mean she can’t be a good wife. If her beauty affects her personality, then it’s her mentality that’s at fault… not the tilt of her nose.
Just because the character listens to an iPod and wears black nail polish, she’s goth. That was just a misused word.
I’m saddened to see that everyone’s pitched out the baby with the bath, in that we say that it can’t be one or the other, it could be both. I mean, just because we listen to classical music doesn’t mean that we can’t listen to jazz.
They say that a good cook can ignite sparks by the way he kisses. The way I see, just because a guy can turn on the stove doesn’t necessarily make him a good cook.
It is really funny to see people that you know acting unpleasantly just because there are TV cameras on.
It would be a mistake to link anything that Israel does to a certain circumstance. And it is a mistake to feel comfortable in any circumstance just because Israel did not act on it.
I don’t go by or change my attitude based on what people say. At the end of the day, they, too, are judging me from their perspective. I would rather be myself and let people accept me for what I am than be somebody who I am not, just because I want people’s approval.
I must confess that I lead a miserable life. For almost two years, I have ceased to attend any social functions, just because I find it impossible to say to people, ‘I am deaf.’ If I had any other profession, I might be able to cope with my infirmity; but in my profession, it is a terrible handicap.
Just because you’re part of ‘Twilight’ does not mean you’re a superstar. It means that you’re given the opportunity to maybe become one later if you work hard. Once fandom goes away, which it will very soon, it’s all about having your priorities straight and working hard.
It’s been strange and weird watching the other girls at the U.S. Olympic trials just because I was training to be out there myself.
My heart is in television, just because it’s been so good to me.
My vanity is not dead. I laugh when I see pictures of myself as I am now-maybe so I won’t cry, but just because it is really funny how much I’ve changed.

I’m not the type of person to give up just because something gets rough. That’s a coward. That’s not me.
People in India like to touch a lot. It’s not very nice for any girl to be touched by strangers wherever they want. You wouldn’t do that to your sister or mother, but just because one is an actor, they think she is your property.
And for the past 10 years I’ve been in a real commercial setting where people are all about numbers, they’re all about that bottom line. So it’s nice to step out of that and hang out with a bunch of people who play music just because they love it, as you can imagine.
Just because something is on trend, it might not work for you.
The lonely wanderer, who watches by the seashore the waves that roll between him and his home, talks of cruel facts, material barriers that, just because they are material, and not ideal, shall be the irresistible foes of his longing heart.
