I have never been to Celtic Park. That’s what I’m really excited to do. I have heard the fans are amazing so I’m dying to see that.
Poetry is a special use of language that opens onto the real. The business of the poet is truth telling, which is why in the Celtic tradition no one could be a teacher unless he or she was a poet.
I loved that pressure. That’s what fuels you as a player. That achievement of playing for Celtic is massive. All the fans put that pressure on your head but it makes sure you go and perform.

It’s funny: when I was a kid, my mom would reorganize the record collection all the time. She’d have classical, she’d have Celtic, she’d have rock and roll, and then she’d have female singers. And I don’t like it that female singers are their own genre.
I like Celtic folk music, Native American music, and any kind of early music. There isn’t a lot of music that I don’t like… except for Show Tunes.
I grew up in a place where everybody was a storyteller, but nobody wrote. It was that kind of Celtic, storytelling tradition: everybody would have a story at the pub or at parties, even at the clubs and raves.
All I can do is concentrate on what I’m doing, playing as well as I can at Celtic. Whatever happens outside, happens. I just need to do everything in my control, playing well.
Certainly my only interest is not in Celtic music.
Celtic was a part of our family. It still is.
I didn’t really adapt to Scottish football well, but I enjoyed my time there. The physical nature and the pace of the game was a big thing, and many of the teams defended really deep against Celtic so there was not so much space to run in behind. That’s a big part of my game, so that was one thing as well.
