I want to take this time to thank Daniel Cormier for being my biggest rival and motivator. He has absolutely no reason to hang his head. He has been a model champion, a model husband, a model father, a teammate, a leader, and I aspire to be a lot more like that man, because he’s an amazing human being.
Drogba has been our great motivator. He never stops reminding us that we are here to win the tournament, no matter the hurdles, no matter the game form and no matter the score margin.
Henry Cejudo is a motivator.
A trip to space is a big motivator to give up some things in your personal life. Obviously, you can’t give up everything and you don’t want to.
Didier Drogba has been an inspiration to all of us in the Ivory Coast national team. He is a great motivator for all of us – and some of the talks he gives are like a president trying to motivate his country. It is not just what he does on the field – but also all he does for all of our people off the field.
I don’t feel I’m in competition with anyone. My sense is of it being like school: I don’t want to beat anyone but I don’t want to get left behind. That’s a great motivator. I like impressing my friends.
I have a lack of fear, whereas in the past the fear of failure was a powerful motivator. Anyway, I have great expectations for the future, but I just don’t know if I’m the monarch of all I survey.
