I had the lyric ‘Chip Don’t Go’ and a few words, and my wife came in and said that it sounded like a good song. I thought I’d finish writing it up and posting it to YouTube. I didn’t realize it was going to take off like it did.
Never forget when posting something on Instagram that it lasts forever. Instagram is embarrassing enough as is, so be careful. A post might not embarrass you in this moment, but it’s likely to in the future. So don’t only think about yourself; think about your future self.
I think the whole aspect of social networking is vulgar and repulsive in a lot of ways. But I also see why it’s appealing – I’ve had that little high you get from posting stuff online. But then you think, ‘Did I need to say that?’ I’ve explored that enough to know to stay kind of quiet these days.
Back in the ’80s and ’90s, when GM was consistently posting giant profits, they were simultaneously firing tens of thousands of workers in my hometown of Flint and across Michigan.

Now, for pure bloggers, for individual people who are just posting their own thoughts, they would still run the same risk of saying something wrong or embarrassing, but they wouldn’t harm their institutions by doing so.
Twitter’s more fast-paced. Instagram, it’s more, like, lifestyle and posting very specific, cool pictures.
With social media, people share mostly their best moments. Don’t feel like you’re not doing enough when you see a mom posting about making applesauce after you bought it. Ha ha! It’s fine! Just for raising a little human being, you should be commended.
We are not going to be satisfied by politicians saying ‘we support you’ and then walking away. We won’t be satisfied until they meet our demands and act. That’s why simply taking a selfie or posting support on Twitter isn’t enough. That’s why we have to keep striking.
We live in a country where posting ‘Let’s riot or something bruv!’ on Facebook will get you a couple of years in prison, while writing a column saying we should bomb Syria is practically an entrance exam for public intellectuals.
When I used to put videos on MySpace, there’d always be someone posting something nasty. To those people, I’d send friend requests, and invariably, they accepted them.
The social aspects of food are really important to me – my favourite food-related memories are meals I’ve shared with my family and friends. Posting Instagram pictures of your food and then seeing your friends comment on it is just a modern form of that kinship.
The hardest part of living without social media was remembering that my little life was enough, so I could just stay there and live it without asking for anyone else’s permission or validation. I realized that for me, posting is like asking the world, ‘Do you ‘like’ me?’
My first-ever social medium was actually MySpace. But my first video ever was on YouTube – that’s when I thought I was a fashion guru – posting fashion stuff. I deleted all of those videos. And I regret doing that today, because I want to look back and see how baduy I was in seventh grade!
I am a troll. And do you know what? I really don’t like social media apart from that aspect of it. Posting pictures of me doing this or that is really boring, but I enjoy engaging with people. I tell them it’s just a laugh and to stay in touch if you’re getting any grief. They’re just opinions.
I live with myself. I wake up with myself, I eat, and I take a dump with myself. I don’t see anything special there. I do all the same things other human beings and creatures do. I don’t see any need to be telling the data of the day of this particular human being by posting it on online. It’s not interesting to me.
I decided to start a YouTube channel a while ago and it kind of failed because I stopped posting and forgot about it. So a few years later I decided I wanted to make one for real with a team behind me. So that’s what I did and I love it!
I am tired, beloved, of chafing my heart against the want of you; of squeezing it into little ink drops, and posting it. And I scald alone, here, under the fire of the great moon.
I’m terrible at posting regularly; I don’t deserve the blog success!
The Internet is far more engaging as an interactive medium than broadcast. Barriers to creating content are going away; they’re almost gone. People are taking control of their entertainment. People are Tweeting, posting on Facebook and YouTube.
