I admire her so much, but I’m not the next Kate Upton.
Kate Moss, for example – she’s never given a lot of interviews. She stays so mysterious. Nobody knows who she is, really.
But my middle daughter, Kate, is very involved in martial arts, and I was just at one of her competitions.
It’s just fantastic to have someone like the Duchess of Cambridge wear the brand. I think there are often misconceptions about who the brand is for, but it’s not just a 20-year-old blonde girl on the beach, and Kate is testament to that.
Kate Hudson is gorgeous and has fabulous fashion sense.

Kate Winslet is incredible. She’s so lovely and so flexible, and she’s got three kids, and she’s flying internationally to work. It’s amazing to see strong women doing what they want to do and doing it well.

Acting-wise, I love Helena Bonham Carter. I love Kate Winslet. I love Angelina Jolie when she was ‘Girl, Interrupted’ Angelina Jolie. There isn’t anybody that I can definitely point to and be like her. Because I’ve never felt like I’ve been able to relate to the women that are famous.
We’re in a celebrity culture, and when I turn on the news today I hear about Lindsay Lohan, Tiger Woods and Paris Hilton and the Kardashian sisters and ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ one thing after another, Kate Gosselin’s new body.
The Kate Spade woman is a classy sort of working woman who’s still stylish.
As for Kate Bosworth, I’ve always admired her. I watched her in a movie called ‘Girl in the Park,’ which has never been released – not even on DVD. I had a copy, and it was bravura acting I had not seen from her.
One of the most memorable and frightening things when I was four or five was Kate Bush doing ‘Wuthering Heights.’ She did it outside, in a forest, and she did this thing where she looked straight into the camera, and it’s the most frightening thing for a kid to see, but it just stuck in my head.
I don’t think there’s anyone who can be unaware of the relevance of Kate Moss, the effect that she’s had on the fashion industry.
To be honest, when I was growing up – I think it’s because of Kate Winslet and ‘Titanic’ – I always wanted to do period.
When I look at a magazine and I see Kate Winslet, I will buy it because Kate lends it a sense of achievement: she is brilliant, sexy, a mother.
I tend to like to make my statements more in fashion than in beauty, because what I normally respond to is when someone looks really effortless and deconstructed, beauty-wise, and they’re fashion is really grand. Someone like Kate Moss is a great example.
To see that the campaign I did for Kate Spade is on the home page, that’s insane. The number of times I’ve logged onto this website and just dreamed about all these clothes, and now I’m in this campaign – I’m so blessed.
Some of my favorite style icons are Kate Moss and Rihanna, except I’m a little bit younger. I put a little bit more teenage into it.
