I know a lot of people try and set expectations for me. No offense to you guys, but I set my own expectations.
All of our intelligence agencies, our Department of Defense, are all working to meet this threat. But it’s a fast moving world; it’s a place where offense is easier than defense, and keeping up with the next innovation in cyber-warfare is an enormous challenge.
When I left high school, I wanted to go to Auburn, and they said they were going to let me go both ways. And my ‘both ways’ was ‘football and basketball.’ And their ‘both ways’ was ‘offense and defense.’ So it didn’t work out for me.
At the three, you can kind of float around. At the four, it’s not as much freedom on offense.
In high school, you don’t play much defense. It’s mostly offense. In college, it’s vice versa, and that’s what I tried to do.
When you know that the offense isn’t just predicated on one guy and that every movement you make gives you a chance to be a part of the action, to make you a weapon, it’s empowering.
I didn’t get a chance to shoot any threes at all in the offense we ran at Wake.

The job of the offense is not to score points. The job of the defense is not to stop the other team from scoring points.
The triangle offense is more for slashers and people who like to take the ball to the basket.
Nonviolence as a lifestyle and perpetual strategy will allow us to be on the offense instead of continually on the defense. We will be able to move the ball down the field with team decisions and playmaking versus constantly thinking about how the opposing forces are moving the ball.
Against our zone, even really good offensive teams take longer than usual to get into their patterns, maybe 30 seconds. So we’re locked into playing defense for that long… it’s hard to run on offense after you’ve been hunkering down on D for that long.
I don’t know of anybody not trying on offense when they’re upset.
I think I can bring a lot to the triangle offense. Derek Fisher wasn’t the tallest guard, but what he did is succeed and have a great career. I’m looking forward to learning from him. I’ve never played in the system, so I want to get there early.
Obviously, teams are passing a lot more, and there are rules that… allow the offense to be more explosive, so you want to have as many defensive players and defensive playmakers and defensive backs that you can.
My whole life, I was thinking of names for kids, and I had a couple of kind of different names. I just didn’t want him to be one of the crowd, with a – no offense to people with these names, but I don’t want him to be a Bob, Dave, Harry, Larry.
Any quarterback that understands what the offense is really about is going to succeed.
Film wise, I always just kind of watch the offense overall.
Taking offense is, in fact, one of the few things that brings us together.
You can lose a game with the kicking game faster than you can with offense and defense.
Not a majority of the offense is run for me to post. I’m fine with that, but I want to play better on the offensive end.
I do play in a spread offense and in order to translate into the NFL, I’ll have to take snaps under center.
In Indiana, I knew the offense in and out. I knew spacing; I knew personnel. I knew the offense, how coach wanted to play me. So when I just wanted to take over and control the game, I could.
I want each and every West Virginian to have bragging rights. I want to stop playing defense and start playing offense. So, together, let us grab the reins of history.
I find the game mentally challenging and really enjoy the chess match that occurs every week between the offense and the opposing defense.
Actually, the original nickname that I was told – it scared me to death – was Heavy G. I think the last thing you want to be known as is Heavy anything. No offense to Heavy D – rest his soul. Worked for him, wasn’t really my bag.
That’s where your defense starts. If you are not good in transition, you probably aren’t going to be good. Or you’ll be taking it out of the net and playing a lot of offense.
The triangle itself is just an offense based on freedom of the ball to go to different places, everybody feeling involved. It’s a good thing.
Rooting for the offense is the safe way to go. You win either way.
Whatever the offense dictates to allow me doing what I or this offense needs to do to win games, I’m going to do it.
To me, when you play in the middle of the field or when you play safety, you have to do so much communicating that you’ve got to kind of watch the whole offense. You can’t just pick a guy or just pass plays.
Joe Prunty will take over, and he will run the team. But nobody gets out of their lane. Joe will still be offense, and Sweeney will still be defense.
Trump has manufactured the first-ever Celebrity Immunity Bubble – rendering him incapable of offense, no matter whom he offends. It’s brilliant.

You have to have a deep passing game within your offense. It’s got to be incorporated in some form or fashion.
The University of Memphis didn’t have the flashy profile or the national exposure. It’s a great university. I love the offense. I love the atmosphere, the big city. They have everything I want. The only knock against them is they are not a great team.
I think I’ve got an outstanding defensive assistant staff that’s really going to help us have consistent, strong defenses. And offensively, we have an excellent staff. We’ve got some younger guys on offense, but that’s what I coach and have my entire coaching career.
You may have to change how you guard somebody because of how they play. But the mindset stays the same – making people uncomfortable, making them do what you want them to do instead them dictating on offense.
I try to help my teammates, and they help me with the offense. It’s good. We play together, and they use my height, and I feel comfortable when I go out on the court.
You should want to run if you’re a player, shouldn’t you, on offense?
No offense to anybody from Pittsburgh, but Pittsburgh wasn’t for me.
You’ve probably heard from 100 different people that the Patriots are a game plan offense. Here’s what that means: We’re going to watch the defense specifically to identify their tendencies, what they do situationally and what their philosophy is.
No offense to Bushwick, where all my neighbors greeted me on the street and there is a growing arts community and a curious beauty to its industrial zone, but Bushwick is no Williamsburg, even if the real estate agents would have you believe it is.

We have to let our defense dictate our offense.
Obviously, like anything else, I have views on how we should play defense but I don’t call the defensive plays. I have views on how I want us to run our offense but I don’t call our offensive plays. It’s in collaboration with Phil Snow, with Joe Brady, with all of our coaches.
Blacks were more likely to be sentenced to prison following a conviction, but that result reflected their past crimes and the gravity of their current offense.
People watch the points, they watch the highlights. But the defense I think helps the offense.
Defensive guys don’t really understand. It’s totally different for offense. Defensive guys are convinced they know us but they just don’t understand. Quarterbacks have so much that they have to read and adjust to. They have to look at everybody on the defense. It’s totally different for the offense.
The Bible, that powerful book, has many effects: it comforts, counsels, instructs, and brings us into the presence of God. But trying to erase offense as one of its functions is a fundamentally misguided task.
My law enforcement experience has showed me first-hand the violent and psychologically scarring impact that can result from the series of dominoes that fall after an otherwise law-abiding citizen fails to pay a summons for a quality-of-life offense on time.
I feel like with me being a big part of any offense, then the numbers are going to come.
That’s what we’re here for as quarterbacks is to help our team win, lead the offense down the field and put points on the board.
I love stock-car racing and NASCAR. I kind of take offense to anybody who has any cross words about it. It’s kind of like your brother. You can talk all the crap you want about him, but you won’t let anyone else do it.
When I was younger, I was thinking of ways I could get respect so people wouldn’t bother me. I was down for whatever. I ended up going to juvenile hall, facing a good amount of time for a first-time offense.
