‘Jaws’ freed me to discover that a successful movie didn’t make a damn bit of difference to my life.
Most people draw from the mind, not the eye. They draw the idea of a table or a face, not what’s in front of them. We don’t actually see the line of the jaw as a line and we don’t see an eye as a perfectly outlined almond shape.
I probably saw ‘Jaws’ when I was 10.
To this day, I haven’t seen ‘Jaws.’ Because I was always in the ocean, when I was a kid, my mom said, ‘See the movies that you want to, but I’m telling you, do not ever see Jaws.’
