I play a lot of basketball.
I always speak my mind. Whether it be something that’s going on in the world, something on the basketball court, or just something I saw with somebody else that’s not right.
I think when I was about 12 or 13, my dad started taking me out to the local golf course, and that’s the first time I ever hit a golf ball. I picked it up pretty quickly, just kind of monkey-see, monkey-do. But when I was 12, golf was so slow to me. For me, it was basketball, girls and music.
I can’t put this down. I’m reading it in Spanish but I am still having English lessons. It is a motivational book about basketball legend Michael Jordan. His determination was inspiring. It helps me focus and drives me on.
My good friend Yao Ming was the first big player in the NBA to come from China. He gave himself to the game and was successful. That inspired the NBA to invest more and do more for the game of basketball. We’re building academies not just in China, but in India, Africa, Europe and South America as well.
I never really called people out. It was more along the lines of teasing a person. It started for me in fifth grade on the basketball court.
Basketball is a simple game. Your goal is penetration, get the ball close to the basket, and there are three ways to do that. Pass, dribble and offensive rebound.
Basketball talent is basketball talent, no matter if it comes from the suburbs or the city. Take the time to know and understand me before you judge me. Only God can do that. Roses do grow from concrete!

The wagering thing for a lawyer is very interesting. Will there be mobile sports wagering? Will there be mobile prop betting? Conceivably, someone sitting in basketball area placing prop bets on a mobile phone while the individual is 10 feet from the court? Some of the possibilities are angst-producing.
You can compare the retail business to basketball. You have to have a plan, you have to hustle, you have to rely on each other, and there’s a scoreboard on the wall.
Basketball players want contact to get a foul called. Slaps on the wrist and bumps on the shoulder are big time to them, and they don’t like that. In football, you get that all the time. The whole mental makeup is different.
I’ve worked my butt off. That keeps my feet on the ground – I’m the same Luis Fonsi onstage and at home cooking an omelette in basketball shorts.
I’m not getting caught in a club at 2 o’clock in the morning. I’m going to basketball games and hockey games and going to events and dinners.

So like any football or basketball coach, you always always believe you’re going to win.
Baseball is a team game but, at the same time, it’s a very lonely game: unlike in soccer or basketball, where players roam around, in baseball everyone has their little plot of the field to tend. When the action comes to you, the spotlight is on you but no one can help you.
There’s no equal amount of training or conditioning individually you can do to simulate a 5-on-5 basketball game. It’s such a different type of staying in shape.

Music was definitely a way out. Instead of playing basketball, I was going to recording studios.
Someone once accused me of slumming. I don’t know what that means. I play basketball. And through that, I get to see a world that is not smart-kid world.
The way I’ve always approached it is if we’re winning and people want to talk about me, it’s fine. If we’re losing, then you really get on me, and I’ll definitely try to be better to help us win. But I’m fine with it, as long as we’re winning and we’re playing good basketball.
I have a prominent platform and I want to use it to promote respect for human rights, democracy, and personal freedom. For me, this is bigger than basketball.
I grew up playing sports, football, basketball, baseball, everything, and acting was such a different environment and different world for me.

Being able to play basketball at a high level, adjusting to the ball in the air, quick feet, quick hands and all that stuff definitely translates to playing tight end in the National Football League.
Tennis was always there for me, which was lucky. I would go play baseball, basketball, football, hang with my brother, do whatever, and at the end of the day I’d come back and say, ‘Hey, Mom, would you hit 15 minutes worth of balls with me?’
Frankie Muniz is amazing at everything he does. Many people don’t know that he can play the piano like you wouldn’t believe, and he can bowl and play basketball like you wouldn’t believe.
I believe that whatever we have, regardless of a trade being done or not, I feel we have a shot. I’ve just got to believe that we’re going to be all right. I’ve got to just play basketball.
Balling is balling; it is all just basketball for me and I’m used to playing both games, so it really does not matter if it is international style, American style; it does not matter at all for me.
As I look back on the day I signed my professional contract in 1973, I’ve never gone to sleep wondering if I could pay the bills or take care of my family. That’s what basketball has done for me. The main thing is confidence. I’m gaining more and more confidence to do whatever I want to do on the basketball court, whether it is shooting threes or sprinting to the rim and finishing or ball handling. I’m confident enough because I have worked on it that I am going to do the exact same things in the game.
I’ve always loved passing the basketball, making other people better.
Those companies that don’t see the black and brown communities are missing, out of their closed eye, talent, which leads to money and growth. When baseball, football and basketball couldn’t see the field, they missed talent and growth. The same is true in the tech industry.
