In my concerts, people love when I sing a Latin encore with guitar.
I think more people in the mainstream, folks like Nancy Wilson and Luther Vandross, they have openly expressed their love for God, and when mainstream artists start expressing their love for God openly in their concerts and including gospel songs in their concert, and, you know, people started embracing it.

I have very eclectic taste in music, but when it comes to going to concerts, I like going to rock concerts.
The thing about doing concerts is that it’s doing a live show. It’s on my schedule. It’s songs I want to sing. It’s saying what I want to say. It’s working with the people I want to work with. I don’t have to worry about pleasing other people – I can do what I want, and people come along and go for the ride.
I wanted to get my recording and become a musician again, work; with other people, do that kind of thing because I kind of got away from that for a while once we started happening, you know, selling records, sold out concerts.

I think fans going to concerts expect more today in terms of meeting and things. It’s cool – I get it because of how the Internet has made things much more personal for fans to follow with Facebook, Twitter and everything – but I also think it’s kind of hindering because it takes from the music in a way.
I see the crowd singing ‘Rock ‘N Roll’ or ‘Back Road’ at my concerts… they are anthems and they lift up your life.
