I take pride in the fact that a lot of little kids dig what I do.
Some people hate the remixes, some people think it’s cool. If you don’t like that type of music and just like rock, you probably won’t like it. But if you are open to more things, you just might dig it.
It’s a lot more interesting to dig into the popular music from where I’m from than adhere to some kind of standardized global pop.
Every year, we ask our donors to dig deeper. And every year, they gladly, generously comply. It is now up to us to find ways and means to forestall the day when they cannot – or will not. Or the consequences for people in war zones could be disastrous.
To survive, you’ve got to keep wheedling your way. You can’t just sit there and fight against odds when it’s not going to work. You have to turn a corner, dig a hole, go through a tunnel – and find a way to keep moving.
