Native Americans have faced centuries of atrocities to their people, their land, and their culture – all under various presidents who took an oath of office to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.
One of the things I learned in law school is that there’s nothing wrong or undesirable or dishonorable or destructive about amending the Constitution.
I’m a defender of the Second Amendment to the Constitution.

In the book I define conservatism, as I believe it is fit upon four categories of principle: respect for The Constitution, respect for life, less government, and personal responsibility.

The military is faithful to the constitution. They will come in only to protect the people from the enemies of the state.
The U.S. Constitution guarantees women across this country, including my daughters, the right to choose for themselves when and how to start their families. Yet, more than forty years after Roe v. Wade, women’s reproductive rights remain in jeopardy.
Each state in the Union is honored in the order of when it ratified the Constitution and became a part of the United States. This September it is Iowa’s turn. Iowa became the 29th state to be admitted to the union on December 28, 1846.
This is a time for a national conversation. A conversation about the document that binds us as a nation and a people. That document, of course, is the Constitution.

It’s a fact that if Hillary Clinton is elected, the country’s chance to have a Supreme Court that values the Constitution – and the genuine liberty and self-government for which millions have died – is gone. Not for four years, or eight, but forever.
The Constitution was written by 55 educated and highly intelligent men in Philadelphia in 1787, but it was written so that it could be understood by people of limited education and modest intelligence.
I think justice Scalia is really the gold standard of what a justice should be. Somebody, regardless of how he feels on an issue, is going to look at the text of the Constitution, look at the text of the law, and make his judgment.
It’s critical to have a sound foundation in free-market economics and the Constitution. A great many Republicans in Washington don’t have that foundation.
They’re lots of good Americans here in New York who have common sense and who believe in free markets and free people and limited government under our Constitution. Those are the principles I’ve always stood for. I know they’re right, and that’s what I’m going to stand for.
As we approached our work, my colleagues and I looked to the U.S. Constitution for guidance. It states, ‘No person shall … be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.’ No person, no exceptions.
The constitution controls any legislative act repugnant to it.
President Obama is in violation of Section 3 of Article II of the Constitution by refusing to enforce the employer mandate provisions of Obamacare. The executive branch, which has no constitutional authority to write or rewrite law at whim, has usurped the exclusive legislative power of Congress.

The Constitution says that government isn’t supposed to be infusing religion into our society, and so I asked to have that upheld.

Trump’s vitriol attracts large crowds and may even win him the Republican presidential nomination but dishonors our best traditions. It spits in the face of every protection and opportunity our Constitution promises.
Marriage in our Constitution is very clear that it’s a man marrying a woman, largely with a view to having a natural family, and if they are unable to do that, obviously then they can adopt.
I will never forget January 22, 1973, the day seven members of our highest court ripped up the Constitution.

But I think the possibility of a black and white society feeding each other’s expertises, living harmoniously, will probably go along in fits and starts now but at least it has a great constitution now to back it up.
