With the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup, I will play many games with Spurs. And I’m going to enjoy all the playing time I get.
I do not regret it and I really enjoyed my time at Spurs. I improved a lot playing with big players.
When I signed for Spurs, I was the only black player in the team.

When I left Spurs I was one of the best defenders in the world and had done so much for such a long time with ultimately little reward. I practically kept the club up on my own for two years.
I think I had set-backs, but I still always had that belief that I was going to play for Tottenham Hotspur. Even when I went out on loan to clubs, it was always to come back and be a Spurs player.
As a Spurs fan I’ve watched the games and the rivalries throughout the years, so to play against Arsenal you have the bit between your teeth.
I probably prefer Spanish football to the others. It’s very technical, the way they play; they keep the ball well, and whenever Spurs have played against Spanish teams in the past, they’ve always made it difficult for us.

Obviously, I am hoping to go on and win many trophies for Spurs and for England. That’s always been the aim since I was a kid, dreaming of lifting the trophy one day for them, so that’s what I’ve got to do.

I do have two wonderful awards from the Western Writers of America, one for ‘Beardance’ and the other for ‘Far North.’ The award is called the Spur, and the plaques really do have spurs on them!
I am jumping to put the Spurs shirt on, but I will have to prove to the coach that I deserve to play.
The Spurs, obviously – you look at an organization like that and say that’s what you want to be consistent, because they’ve become consistent. That’s what you start striving for night in and night out.
I was in the Spurs team and in the Ireland team when I got it and I admit it took its toll on me when I came back. But look, there were many, many people worse off than me.
I have found back at Spurs the pleasure of football.
