We’re proud of how we’ve stuck together, stood our ground, surrounded ourselves with strong women and are now using our voices more than ever.
People ask me why I write strong women, and I say, ‘Well, I don’t like stupid ones.’ Who would want to read about weak and whiny women? Are they people who assume women are weak and whiny? If so, why do they think that?
I’ve always – from my very first film, ‘Shopping,’ which was Jude Law and Sadie Frost, I mean, I’ve always liked strong women characters in films.
I grew up surrounded by these tough, ballsy, strong women. They were also adoring women, but they were the kind of women who would argue over what kind of pants you were wearing or the color of your nail polish.

I love and really respect strong women. I’m obsessed with Scarlett Johansson and Drew Barrymore and Penelope Cruz. They are just really incredibly strong-willed, intelligent females in the industry.
